I like to add 3 egg white and a whole egg to my morning shake(all raw). If you only use egg white with low fat milk it kina tasts like vanilla milk, just pinch your nose.

How do you know if it tastes sorta like vanilla milk if you are pinching your nose just to get it down?

Because I don't use my nose to taste and the taste is not the same as the smell.
It is important to break the Chalaza (white string) or else its like a slimy worm going down your throught(Not a sensation I would fantasize about).

If you cant smell you cant taste thats why when you have a cold and your nose is all blocked up the food tastes so bland

If you have a bad cold you should use sugar....It doesn`t take the cold away but it does make the phlegm taste better:P

I beg to differ.

It could be true for you, but I can definitely tell the difference between food's smell and taste. Yes, taste is affected by smell and they work in conjuntion with one another (esp notable during colds/flu).

If you have a hard time distinguish between taste and smell it could be because one sence dominates the other (most likely smell), esp when you have a lower tastebud count.

Eg. Durian is a fruit with a bad odour (some call it sewage, stale vomit, skunk spray) and a pleasant taste discribed by British naturalist Alfred Russel Wallace as "a rich custard highly flavoured with almonds"
