Fatburner and L-Glutamine was created by Mr_SA
Okay, so, its sort of basic knowledge that fatburners can also lead to muscle loss.

Maybe this is a stupid question, but if you combine L-Glutamine with a fatburner (5ml L-Glutamine in water when taking your fat burner such as HEAT), would that stop/minimize muscle breakdown?

Give it a shot, you're only TESTing it...

muscle loss only happens when u drop calories too low, you need to keep your protein at the correct level and the carbs up too but low enough to cut body fat... if your calories are too low your body goes into starvation and your body starts to starve and it utalises muscle for fuel not body fat

L glutamine is supposed to be anti catabolic so it might help to some extent and will help with the fat burning process by maintaining muscle but you need to ensure you are getting enough calories as djeasye mentioned

Ok something that i am still trying to get my head around.....dj maybe you can shed some light. This may answer your question to Mr SA.
Everything that i have read about glutamine supplementation only shows some benefit to the immune system and not having any concrete benefit as far as muscle recovery/endurance or as in this case muscle breakdown is concerned. So why are we all using it ??????
*** Sorry, dont mean to Hijack but its relevant *****

There is a huge depletion of glutamine during exercise and so supplementation compensates for this depletion. Gln isn't an essential amino acid but it pretty much becomes 'essential' when exercising, especially weight training, is factored in

heat stimulates the body to heat up the body. the extra body heat in turn burns more calories. then there is the metabolic increase from the ephadrine,so all in all u get a large increase in the metabolism and calories burned from the fat burner,if your caloires are too low then your body will start eating into the muscle before it eats into the body fat if the calories are prolonged at such a low level... so if your are eating enough your body wont begin to eat into muscle, but if your calories are too low the body will start to starve and thats where the problem comes in... taking l-glatimine will help with the loss of muscle and catabolic effects of low carb/low calorie diets but if u are over doing it your body will still burn the muscle and your l-glutamine has gone to waste... all in all aim for a .5kg loss a week 1kg if u add in cardio and then u will not be burning into the muscle u have put on...

I know L-Glutamine is also sometimes given to cancer patients that is about to receive chemo and afterwards as well to protect the muscles agaist the intense stress of the chemo. Basically it supports the muscles during stressfull times.
