To throw in my 2c

I get chicken breast at R38.00 p/kg, but it's "deep marinated with brine". Any negative impact you guys know of?

Fish, I catch. ;)

When it hurts... That's when i start counting, because that's when it starts to count.

For everyone living in or around Pretoria I strongly suggest you visit Food Hub in Silverton. Amazing prices on everything with even nicer month end specials.

Just some of the prices of stuff I buy every month form the one shop, Fram2Kitchen:
• R68.99 for 2kg chicken breasts.
• <R40 per kg for amazing boerewors
• Usually <R80 for sirloin or rump, depending on what is on special.

There is also an Eskort and SeaHarvest Factory Store in the centre. And around the corner is a Helgas.

In Elarduspark there is a guy selling Large eggs. He charges R32 for 30 large eggs. Just note the eggs must be refrigerated and eaten in 3 weeks. (The eggs are almost white in colour)

I have found its very up and down... Had some fantastic deals and two days later I'm at Spar paying 80 bucks a kilo. :pinch:
Bluff Meat supply seems to have half decent prices consistently at least.
This on on boobs though

Yea I can imagine it makes things that much harder :pinch:

A few of my Muslim clients have trusted butchers that look after them like family, so that's a positive :P

Some feedback on this farm 2 kitchen place. The meat is what we call 2nd grade. Like you get chicken for R39 per kilo, but then you have to buy the 5kg frozen IQF chicken full of water and who knows what hormones. Their meat contains water and preserves like dextrose and cheap sugars. After about 30 mins in there I smelled the chicken and that's when I packed out my trolley and made like a baby and head out.

So a bit of a thread revival / bump.

I have been trying to find some good deals on meat in general and it's a bit tricky.

I might be able to get Rocklands Chicken Fillets for R39.99 per KG, we use Rocklands chicken at the cafe at work and it seems alright. Is it also 2nd grade chicken?

Any other places I might be able to purchase bulk, cheap chicken fillet from? I am based in Northern Johannesburg.

For some Abs are made with lighting & angles... For others they are made in the kitchen.

I just picked up 5kg of trimmed beef fillet for R149/kg at Fruit n Veg next to Access Park. :)

Frozen skinless chicken breasts are R35.50/kg at the shop next door.
