Places to buy BB food.

Howsit everyone, new to the forums but I've been skulking around as a guest for a while now.

In any case, does anyone know if there are any places to buy bodybuilding type foods in Pretoria at reasonable prices? Like chicken breasts, cottage cheese, lean steaks, plain (greek) yoghurt, tuna etc. I'm struggling to budget for all the food I need. Are there any places (mabey chicken farms) where I can buy chicken breasts and eggs in bulk? Also, I've heard of a place in Potch that sells protein powder (in its purest form) at some ridiculously low price, but I have yet to confirm this. Come on, share your shopping secrets with us!! Shot should've probably searched the forums first. I did some searching today and the best I could find was 10kg breats for about R480. So roughly R48 p/k. I'm willing to pay that just for the fact that I know this butchery has good quality meats and that I've bought breasts from them before.

As for the protein powder, the place in Potch seems to have either closed down or, according to my friend, Nestle has bought them. We're following up some leads on other wholesalers of protein powders and will keep you guys posted. There is a place in Durban that sells (I stand under correction) 20kg bags for something ridiculous like R300-R400. I don't know what sort of protein but if I remember correctly it's made from eggs. Tried to phone today again but didn't get any answer.

The whey you describe is a myth bud- I have been on that road. Or it will be some type of soya protein with very low Protein %. But still not at that price.

Yeah I hear you! My friend's who's helping me is in the catering industry and his brother too so they're trying to source something. Even if it is low quality, it might be worth looking into processing it further. Let's see...

No they are nice and fresh- not frozen or pumped full of water.

Hey bud- I enjoy your enthusiasm but there is no way you can process low quality protein further

I've had that protein over a year ago from potch, I bought 1kg for like 50 bucks, there's a lot of vitamins and its more soy protein if I'm not mistaken, apperantly they export that to countries n give it to the people who are malnorished.. I'm not 100percent tho.. Its a very small retail outlet just outside there, very easy to miss. And the bag I bought had a small amount of protein in it compared to what I thought.

If you are in Moreleta then go to Super Servings Meat Deli in Woodlands. That's where I used to buy all my meat. Go there every Saturday, see what's on special, and buy craploads at a time. I get chicken breasts for R39/kg, Top Side mince for 39/kg (little fat not like that cheap ass catering mince), Fillet Steak for R99/kg. And it's top quality meat!
