Pork???? was created by Steenkamp
Hi Guys,

I want to ask as Ive been reading about it but there no definite answer,

I want to know if pork has its place as a protein in bodybuilding, i love a varktjop on the braai and have only been eating fish and chicken for the past few months

i personally have a pig farm and i know there is a lot of stigma surrounding pork but with genetic improvements better feed and better health management i produce p grade pork that means that the fat on the pig is less than 8mm so they aren't "so vet soos 'n vark"

any thoughts on this

Maybe the fillet will be really lean and high in protein?

For Every 100g of pork meat its 21g of protein and 6g of fat

Saturated fat 1.8 g
Polyunsaturated fat 0.5 g
Monounsaturated fat 2.6 g

Lean pork is fine, I often have pork fillet. Obviously crackling and the fat should be avoided.

All pork has a place. Pork fillets if you want low fat, bacon or fatty cuts if your following LCHF or keto. Plus the fat adds so much taste, now need for sugary sauces. Also it's very satiety. Animal fat DO have benefits.

So while we are on the topic of pork, how about Pork Loin Chops? With all meat I eat, I generally remove the fat.

Also this is a bit off topic, however general chicken pieces. So the mixed bags which has wings, thighs, breasts etc. If you generally remove all the skin and try remove the fat from it would it be alright to eat in terms of the fat intake provided you are on a low fat diet?

@Steenkamp, it is at times like these when I wish there were a PM system as it could be awesome if some of us were able to purchase some pork from you at cheaper prices!!

For some Abs are made with lighting & angles... For others they are made in the kitchen.

Dude you own a bacon farm and I have received so much as a single delicious rasher??! Bad friend award! :(
Sure there's nothing wrong with pork protein at all. But limit it to once a day if you are on a carb diet as it will kill your arteries if you are genetically prone to high cholesterol.

@ Pyro, cant get bacon to you if i don't know who and where you are lol,

I slaughtered 5 pigs on Tuesday morning that come from PIC's 510 blood line and had to share this back fat is where you measure the fat on a pig so yesterday morning went to pick up the carcasses and there back fat is 3.8mm so if you look at the loin chop at the top where there's to most fat there is only 3.8mm of fat,

As far as the name goes bud's I'm not to keen being a bodybuilder with a pig nickname LOL
