when should I eat carbs on non training days?

You would usually have your carbs when your body needs it the most. Like in the morning after fasting (sleeping) and then around training times (pre and post work out).
If you have a sedentary job (like sitting at a desk or in a car most of the day) carbs are not really needed much during the day, so it best to take em when ya need em

I have a q for u DJ if u can help me plz.

I am skipping carbs all together. eggs in themorning with whey. Bcaa's pre workout and hake for most of the day. I do tend to put in veggies. But high in fiber and i dont really regard it as carbing as it wont be much. Just for the regular movements if u catch what i mean.I take the flaxseed oil 30ml with lunch.

I am on ECA (heat) and clen at the moment. Wana add t3 and gona be on winny and prop in 2 weeks. Running it 1ml each at EOD, stopping 2 weeks before the show and going on proviron.

I am taking in carbs during the weekend. Like a refeed. Dont cheat hectic or anything. Still watching what i eat. Energy is alrite.

What do u think? My question is basically...is this a good idea? What would u advise?
Thanks a mil man.

Regards

so u are basically doing "anabolic diet" as such... look keto does work, but the problem is,and anyone who has done a keto refeed will pay testement to this, carbs speed up the metabolism...so having them at the right time of the day you will keep that metabolism going, also you need to make sure with your diet that you are not going over 1.5g of protein per LB of body weight as you will not reach ketosis if you do...how far out from your show are you?

i am 9 weeks out. my weight is 92 about ( 92kg x 2.2 x 1.5 = 303 g of protein ) is that accurate?

My bf is at about 8%. Was measured with the caliper 2 weeks ago and was at 8...
I struggle to get the fat of my stomach...bad...
I dont use the stix anymore, i just go straight 5 days without carbs and 2 days refeeding. I wana compete under 85kg at the Novice show comings up in April.
I do light cardio every morning and train weights at night with a partner.

Thanks DJ

i would go back on to a carb based diet now if i was you,8% is fine, but those carbs will allow u to do Higher intensity cardio which could be your problem for not getting shredded.

I am on ECA. It helps. I will not let energy levels hold me back from doing hard cardio. I just thought i should do the low insity cardio for better results. As u see the pro's just walkin on the treadmills. I would rather drop cals than do too much cardio and burn away muscle. I know too low cals can burn cals away too, but u will go into catabolic state easier from HIIT than low cals. Or am i wrong DJ?

I am in it to win it. The low energy levels dont get me down. I alrite evergy wise. The ketones i think are kicking in for energy as they saw i aint eatin carbs.lol.

If u think that me doing HIIT will get me shredded and not burn away my hard worked for muscle, then i shall do so my friend. Should i?

do you know that branch warren did 20mins of cardio a day leading up to the olympia?

HIIT on lower calories, and too much cardio and to much training and not enough rest will kill muscle, keto and HIIT cardio is a no go... i still think that carbs are what you need right now,how low is your current calorie intake?

Well..I am gona email it to u so u can look at it. I am looking at taking t3, clen and ECA with it. Middle feb im gona start on winny and prop EOD.
I followed 1 that was higher in cals, u will see. I atached it too.

I really think those are decent diets as i worked it out myself.
But u will be the expert on it.
Thanx alot DJ

hey romp3l. i dont know if u meant to do it like that, but when calculating the amount of protein per day u must do it on lean body mass. subtract the body fat percentage and then do the calculations.
i was at 8percent. bulking phase now, its depressing.

yo, just a Q for you DJ..
I am wanting to get 2 diet plans from you.
1 for my girlfriend who is studying up in johannesburg and is very low on cash and bodyfat AND muscle (replacement shakes would be great to factor in)
and the other for myself, a lean bulk with your classic 3 carb meals a day and the others with fats.
how much would this cost me?
thanks mate :)

XXXL, if you are training for a comp, I think you should consider contacting DJ and let him customize the diet for you personally. He does charge, but is very much worth every cent.
There are so many factors to take into account and a lot of fine tuning to be done into the run in to the comp, that it really helps to have a pro in your corner. You can get hold of him on the via the Contact-Us button at the top of the page.
He'll stay in contact with you and help you through the whole process.
