Dr recommendations? was created by MacPro
I hope this is ok to ask(else, mods can delete), as a general google only returns 2 results which have no reviews.

Basically, im looking for a recommendation for an endo doc that can help me in the north JHB area.
Im not sure if it should be an endo or a pych but I have this no(nada) libido, central weight gain, no motivation, restless sleeps, cloudy memory/brain fog, non of the get up and go attitude/moods, generally feeling down on a daily basis, preference to be reclusive @ 32.

I did go to the GP, she requested blood tests which cost around R2500, everything(except ldl/hdl) was within the lab range. Said im good. This ended the conversation.

I have phoned a few endo's for consulting fees, the first consult is on avg around R2k, I prefer to rather hear a few people on their recommendations than just randomly selecting the closest doc.

There's your first problem. You spent R2500 on tests and don't even get to see the results. The reference range for testosterone levels is absurb. Ask to get a copy of the results emailed to you and post them here with your name and the docs name and details removed.

Unfortunately we can't recommend specialists on the forum. It's not ideal to have anyone's personal details advertised on a steroids forum.

I will request the test results, that was done a few months back.

I have a done a private test(fasted, morning) at another lab where one can just walk in and get tested...

I did the following
E2 = 103 pmol/l
Total Test = 14.4 nmol/l
SHBG = 17.10 nmol/l
Free Test = 405 pmol/l
FSH = 3.5 u/l
LH = 3.2 u/l

and the lipogram set, its still high, t-chol = 6.9 :oops:

When last did you use anabolic steroids and what did you use?

Your total T and free T are lower than ideal but just above the range where most doctors would be willing to prescribe TRT.
Some guys at these levels feel fine and healthy, but many men would be experiencing all the typical low T symptoms with your levels.

I heard from a sports doc who treats a lot of guys on TRT. Men who who grow up with higher than average testosterone levels and experience a big drop, will still be in a normal T range, but can feel symptoms of low T like lethargy, lack of drive at the same T level where most other guys would still be happy and horny. There's no one size fits all with our hormones.

You could definitely benefit from trying TRT and yes low T does cause depression, but it's also possible that your symptoms are due to depression due to stress, diet, lack of sleep, isolation etc, and not because of a physiological issue.

Get the other test results from your doctor and compare.

Last cycle was 2 and half years ago, did test cyp front loaded with tbol with HCG during cycle. PCT was the basic clomid and nolva.

Going to a new dr soon, he has sent through a request for a test which I just got the results:

S-Ferritin = 204 ng/mL
S-PSA = 0.52 ng/mL
S-TSH = 1.27 uIU/mL
Total Test = 13.6 nmol/L
SHBG = 14.00 nmol/L
Free Test = 408 pmol/L
E2 = 91 pmol/L
DHEA-S = 13.3 umol/L
LH = 3.3 U/L
Vitamin D 25 = 14 ng/mL

The balance is biochemistry(renal, liver,serum protein, lipid) all within normal ranges except cholesterol which is high.

Your Vit D is very low. I'm not saying that's a major factor, but there is a proven link between low Vit D and low testosterone.

I would not recommend you go on TRT without first sorting your diet and lifestyle, and seriously considering whether your depression might not be due to low testosterone, but that maybe you have depression which is affecting your libido and testosterone levels.

Studies have shown consistently that depressed men have lower testosterone levels. Testosterone will definitely make you feel better initially, but if your depression is not due to your hormones, you'll slip back into the same depressed mindset.

Been to the dr today, straight into vendor locked in trt.
The brand used was HD labs for the test + aromatase inhibitor(both injectables, mixed in the syringe) given IM. Then there was hd labs hcg 5000, divided into 4 shots, 1 shot taken today.

Is hd labs purely UGL?

Yes, HD is UGL. Are you saying your doc is prescribing and using HD labs on you?

Yip, he is using it on patients but not prescribing. HD Labs, exactly the logo with the sword.

I googled the brand when I got home and also called dischem, thats how im leaning towards UGL.

His operating model is that you have to come to him weekly for injections/meds(so locked in with weekly payments for every visit), he does not give prescriptions. I think i made a terrible mistake today.

I went to the exact same doc. as pump said on my post. doc should not be giving UGL test to patients.

This Dr is known even to my endocrinologist. My endo said for gym and bodybuilding there is no issue with UG, but he does not recommend it at all for testosterone replacement therapy.

Crap, definately made a mistake, I thought going to a dr will be an honest and good move.
This guy sounds like he cares more about his pocket.

No invoice is provided, I called and asked for a copy, it's on its way allegedly.

I also asked what the dosage amount was in the mix and I was told it's 1ml of test.

Take home meds was vit d, seleniu zinc combo, dhea. All branded by him and provided inhouse. He did offer me the peptide pty1 or something and said to think about it for next week.

Anyways, this is definitely a mistake, what are my options? I'm already 3k down from yesterday and finding a dr that actually wants to help isn't exactly straightforward.

Iesh what a load of bullshit to be honest. If you need to be medicated you want to make sure it's pharmacy grade if this is what you going to be doing for the rest of your life. You also will be able to claim it on your medical savings for your monthly script. I do understand like when there was a shortage of Pfizer your options become extremely limited, but other than that you just go ahead and get your script and live your life, go back every 6 months do your bloods make sure everything is balanced, do your every 3 / 6 months blood donations. This should not consume your life by having to go have a Dr inject you, etc.

I would maybe thank him for his help and state that you appreciate that he would be able to administer your injections however having thought about it you would prefer to be given a script and claim against your medical aid and administer your own injects of Pfizer Depo Test only.

Thanks, I'll go with that. Though yesterday he gave me the line of "test is a schedule drug and can only be administered by a dr". I bet majority of his clients fall for it because they don't do any homework.

I have asked today for a script.

Response: For what, then why. then, I must come for the first 4 weeks to him as he can monitor and adjust the dose. Then he will provide monthly medication.

I left the conversation at that point as it wasnt going anywhere.

Basically, these are the charges:
Test injection(allegedly, 100mg test, 100mg aromatase inhibitor) - R500 per week
HCG - R650, this gives you 4 injections, its kept in his fridge
Vit d - R150 for 4x 5000ui capsules
Milk thistle - R350, because the liver needs to be refreshed
Selenium/zinc mix - wasnt listed on invoice
DHEA capsules - R350

This is the monthly makeup, so effectively, one needs to go to him and spend R3500 per month with him if its a straight 4 weeks.

Today when I was finding my hcg bottle in the container of everyones hcg's(was about 30-40 vials), I noticed only HD labs and Keifei brands. Testosterone is depoject, i could not see the aromatase inhibitor name, but the logo was HD in silver text. Googling shows that its most likely mastaject.

I phoned dischem and they only stock depo test by pfizer, which is cheaper than 2kg of whey per 10ml vial.
Now to find another dr and start this process all over again :(

Get your supplies on the blackmarket, you are far less likely to get scammed then, ironically.

What admin said. If you already know what dose he is giving you then buy it on the black market and do that for a few months while you finding yourself another legit Dr..

Pure greed. This guy should have his license to practice medicine suspended for a while, so he can think about what it means to be a doctor.

Decided to self medicate for now. I always thought the general supply of hcg was synthetic until I got ovigil which is freeze dried :sick: The silly thing came with 1ml water and none of the pharmacies seem to be stock injection grade nacl.

Wayne wrote: Tell that doc to go F himself!! He should be reported or something! Don't u have a family doc?

The very first doc was my gp, she was happy that all test results were within the lab range.
We have a new GP now, will check how he feels about trt towards the end of my current stock.
