Yes it is indeed ironical but indeed it is a fact. I am still looking for a decent Endo but I can tell you the first one I went to was only interested in making me his coin box. Sad but to be honest there are some doctors out there who simply do not have the best interest of those they treat.

Ha! I went to exact same Doc. Exactly the same meds prescribed as you and also HD Labs. Doesn't give a prescription. Sadly I got nailed for 8 weeks worth. Also dodgy invoices and he charges for "consultations" even when he doesn't see you and gives you 4 weeks worth. The medical aid did not pay 75% as he said, so I'm out of pocket too.

Same guy 100% sure.

Oupa, this is the exact same Dr. I mentioned to you guys the other day. Only now he is even more expensive.

I will not bother even phoning him for a script or similar, karma is a bitch

Going to a new dr soon, he has sent through a request for a test which I just got the results:

S-Ferritin = 204 ng/mL
S-PSA = 0.52 ng/mL
S-TSH = 1.27 uIU/mL
Total Test = 13.6 nmol/L
SHBG = 14.00 nmol/L
Free Test = 408 pmol/L
E2 = 91 pmol/L
DHEA-S = 13.3 umol/L
LH = 3.3 U/L
Vitamin D 25 = 14 ng/mL

The balance is biochemistry(renal, liver,serum protein, lipid) all within normal ranges except cholesterol which is high.

Your vit D is way too low. I started the journey in November/December 2013.

3 of my results, compared to yours:

Free Test: Below 200
Total Test: 6.3 nmol/L

Vit D: 26

And I had never used steroids or testosterone in my life before.

The frustrating thing is, every doctor will give you a different opinion about vit D.
I've been to and Endo, a Urologist, 4 GP's, Neurologist, and last year I saw a Functional doctor.
The functional doctors are quite interesting. A different breed. Mine is also part of the American association of Function Medicine. And he writes his exams in America.

Their answers ranged all the way from 50 - 80.

At one stage, I was taking 50 000 iU 3 times a week, and we got my vit D up to 80.

The one doctor was super happy about 80, another doctor said, no, that's way too high.
There is a doc in the UK (TV series: Doctor in the House), who says it should at least be above 60.

So how much D ? Depends on the doctor you are speaking to.

It's been a long journey, but I will get there eventually.
