what do u hate most about public gyms?

what is your pet hate when going to gym????

mine is seeing guys rocking up dressed to the nines as if they where going out on the town training and making noises when they are only pushing 10kg wieghts...its like gym is a fashion show....

The skinny staff at VA asking you to put the weights away.

Do they actually do anything beside standing?

That and the toilette freak me out.. Always a miff smell in the air.

What do I hate about public gyms? Well, the public...

I prefer to train at my own gym, no waiting in lines and best of all; no idiots asking for autographs...

bro what about the 4 guys using the smith machine and all of them are talking on their cellphones at once and no one is actually training on the machine yet u have to wait till they all have done their 3 sets each...

I waited for this post..... At my local VA half of the staff is so fat they hardly can get through the turnstiles. A certain group of gymmers leave everything they use all over the floor. They use three apparatus at the same time although they don't know shit what's going on there. Nude chat parties in the dressing rooms. Parading without end in front of mirrors, OMG !....The list is endless.

Agree with Dj on the tools who dress in their best just so they can work out.

And our darker brethren that will train in a group, and use all the eezee bars and not give consideration to the other members

Hmm I do that sometime. I leave one or two weights on the floor when the gym is to full. Dont feel like falling over people .

It sound like my old gym . Which VA you train at? I think I know the group that you talk about.. hahah

Some VA staff members need some work. One weight a day will help them grow in the long run.

Nothing pissis me off so much as people who insist on doin some exercise I've never seen in my life before and using ALL the dumbells from 25kg to 45kg!! Then they do 2 reps in a set and do not dare ask them how much they have left or it is another 10min cell call. Thats why I left my previous VA gym.

Did get revenge one day though, my training partner at that stage was a 160kg, 180cm rugby prop who could arm curl (in sets of 90kg.

Well the day there were three of these idiots on the bench press, shouting and screaming and slapping each other. What was the cherry on the cake was the fact that they had 80kg on the bar, one guy benching, second guy spotting and the third guy standing 'wydsbeen' over the benchers chest.....all of them shouting, pushing and pulling hard as hell!! (Oh I wished for a camara phone!)

So when we (dared) ask them how many sets they have left they replied with "Many!" My partner cooly walked to the bar, lifted it and did 12 reps. When he put it down and turned around our 3 friend dissapeared never to be never seen again at the gym! (in our time slot anyway)

Yeah, i must say, the planet fitness i go to is not that bad, the main problem for the big guys is that they cant find one of the workers there that is big enough to spot them for bench press etc

not at my gym bro,they would still be chatting up all the hot chicks if they didnt have to pick up weights...oh wait thats all the fucking do is chat to hot birds all day...the weights are always left laying around.

No not really, but I do have a cool phone...

Back on track... I actually did join a gym in town, but they only had 120Kg of weights and that included the dumbells' weight as well. I also broke half of their cable machines on the first night and quit.

The other gym had better equipment, but only one of each and I've heard people are waiting in lines to use something. I went there and wanted to sign-up, but the lady there said that she was very busy and can only examine me two weeks later, so I laughed and walked away. It only later struck me that she must have heard about me destroying the other gym... news really travel in small towns.

I now have my own gym at home with a shit load of weights and some cable equipment. Only need a calve machine and leg press.

I train at our university gym, and I really cant complain. There is more than enough weights and equipment, people are generally friendly and staff are all properly trained.

On the other hand I trained at our local VA for a while whilst unemployed and that place is a srewup. You have 2 watch were your walking and what you are touching or you might end up with a needle in your hand or foot. Youre not allowed to drop weights [hard to do with a 240 kg dlift]. OLD PEOPLE. YOUNG PEOPLE. SMALL PEOPLE. the list just goes on and on. AND YOU CANT FORGET STUPID PEOPLE.
