Howsit every1. Just joined this forum today cos i started gym last week. I'm not a very big guy . Cant really push heavy weights as well (started benching 40kgs:blush: )

I want to start using supplements but wanna know when will be the appropriate time to start? And what would be a good supplement to use?

Thanks in advance

I would say get a mass builder and a multi-vit. As long as its not from usn it should be fine! Give it about 3 months and then you can add creatine to the mix. But also, make sure your diet is good! Gotta eat big to get big!

U say u not the biggest guy so i reckon go out and eat everything that comes ur way.:munch Try to eat at least 6 - 8 times a day.
If u trying to gain mass make sure u do the basic mass movements at gym, Bench press, dead lifts and squats.

After 3 months see where u are than take it from there with supplements.

No lets not deadlift as I need a double hip replacement haha

That sounds good. I really started concerntraing on my eating habits now so i'm kinda sorted there. Look i dont wanna become a bodybuilder or anything like that, just wanna look good and feel good. If i'm benching 40kgs now, what should i aim for in say 3months? And how often should i increase the weights?

Get a gym partner to help you .

When Is started gym , the heaviest I could lift for dumbells were 15kg.
I was to weak to do the cable flies on the lower weight.

Dont worry about 40kg. How much you lift means fuck all.

How you look it another thing.

Keep it easy for the first few months and get use to the swing of things.

Like Wayne said. Masbuilder and some multi vits . Then progress from there to creatine and so on.
( Diet is No.1 )

Maybe reading up on the following will help.

GABA , ZMA , BCAA , Glutemine ,

Never fraternize with them as equals, never accept them as your social equals or they will devour you, they will destroy you.

Yeah it was embarrassing when the girl lifted more than me.
I was so skinny and weak , thanks to jolling to hard!

I remember my arms been stiff as hell, and you cant straighten them. Your arms look like a T-Rex's arm.

If I were you mate.

I would do as much cardio as possible. Get the fat down then build the muscles.

So today marks the end of week three. I'm at my lowest point and so demotivated that i actually want to throw in the towel. I cant see any difference at all, but thats isnt the problem. Main problem is that i cant push the weights that i pushed in week 1. Seems that i have become weaker and it really embarrassing having someone to spot for u on a 40kg bench press.

I'm gonna try my best to hang in there for another month or so, but if i dont look and feel better by then i will have to reconsider this gym thing

Ps: i aint a quitter, just feel really demotivated at present

dude, you not going to turn into hulk over night....

and some people are natrually stronger than others... remeber u don't have to use heavy weights to get big... yes it helps... but you push what your muscles are capable of pushing and that will lead you to grow them.... it makes no difference if your max is 40kgs or 80kgs... its you trying to push out all you got....

and remeber one thing, bodybuilding is a way of life not an overnight muscle miracle..

keep it up..... dont look at rushing anything, don't even worry about goals, do it because you looking at living a healthy life and you looking at taking care of your body. what ever else comes is a bonus and trust me it will come......

but if we all could just grow muscles by looking at weights, yes there are a few genetic freaks but the average person has to work their whole life to get where they want to be...

good luck

Dude a year ago I could do reps with 150kg. I had a back operation and only about three weeks ago able to go back to gym.

I started with reps on 20kg and I'm currently doing 70kg reps. My point is everyone have to start somewhere and forget about the weights - make sure you do the exercise properly - you will see better results sooner. And make sure you eat enough - you are most probably pushing less weight than in your first week because you're body needs more fuel and you're not giving it any.

Just stick it out for 3 months - you'll see the difference!!

GSI, we all go through ups and downs and we all have good weeks and we all have bad weeks. But if you keep in mind that you did your best at each work out then you should have nothing to worry about. Always push until failure and keep sets to 3 and reps between 8 and twelve Some guys push heavier than others but you also dunno how long the guys that push heavy have been training for. You also dont know what supplements etc thay are taking. You dont know how often they train either. Also you need to find a way to motivate yourself, I find that my workouts are a waste of time if I dont have the motivation to go with it, but I know its not always easy. Also you need to be patient. Last thing is set goals for yourself, not impossible ones but small ones that will eventually lead you to the ultimate goal and reward yourself when you reach each goal with something that will make you feel good about yourself and motivate you to reach the next.

We all have low strength days, well at least I do.
Last week I couldn't do the same amount of reps with the same weight as the previous week, so I was weaker.
But this week I can manage again and even increased weight in some exercises.
The important thing is that you train through those days and go back the next day.

Focus on your good days and forget about about your weak days.

The most important thing about training is diet, if your diet is wrong you wasting your time. I wasted about 2 years before I got on the right track.

A reason why you cant push the weights that you could push in week one is because your body is adjusting. After week one you are so terribly sore and since your body is not used to the exercise it may be taking more than just a week to repair them. So after week one, you train the same muscle groups in week two but your muscles never repaired completely so they are even more strained and the same for week three. So you get a synergistic effect over the weeks and hence you can push weights that are only lighter than the week before. So I suggest maybe giving it a two week break to help your muscles recover fully before training again. Also if you are not eating correctly, it will take a lot longer for muscles to repair correctly and hence strengthen and grow.

Buy yourself a pre-workout booster... (CreaPump from SSN is a good one and quite cheap), and this will get you motivated again!
Make sure you eating enough in the day to fuel your body for your workouts... and i am not talking about eating bread..... i am talking about eating chicken etc.

Give it a shot, you're only TESTing it...
