Hi guys just need some advice as I converted to Islam recently and this will be my first fast.

I originally planned on bulking till september as thats when I thought the fast will begin but it actually starts in 3 weeks time and I was thinking of just going Keto in that month.

Reason being is that I'm going to lose weight anyway so might as well just be body fat and I'll be at active for 17 hours so I'll need to sustain energy levels throughout the day. I'll train at around 8 o clock every night

Any advice from anyone, especially those with fasting experience, will be greatly appreciated

Sorry guys Apparently it is true, cause its happened to certain people already, so I’m not taking any chances !!

I think the one problem you will have is that on keto you drop a lot of water and your kidneys might take strain as you won't be able to drink water during the day when you fast

Thats very true Bee, and aren't Ketones toxic thus necessitating water intake?

No they aren't toxic, they can just be problematic if there are too many in the blood as they are acidic but that is usually a problem in diabetics. Anyways here is the thread Wayne was referring to if you want to take a look at it www.anabolicsteroids.co.za/forum/11-gene...r-guys-fasting#21211

Thanks for the link sting, any advice on water intake?
Should I drown myself in the morning and evening or should I train my body to not need fluids? (if that makes sense)

I don't know, depends what you decide on the diet you are going to follow. If doing keto then its not a bad idea. If not then carb up, with fibre too so your muscles store water that you will utilise during the day, the fibre will help with holding water too. Maybe get rehydrate sachets and take them before bed and in the mornings, especially if you are going to be training.

Just an idea, maybe you want to start phasing out meals slowly during the day over the next 3 weeks so when you start fasting, it's not such a shock to the system. I dont have experience with fasting, it's just ideas

was thinking going keto, drop salt prior to fasting and I should be good to go. As for phasing out meals, thats not gonna work for me, I'm a greedy bastard

then maybe start keto a few days before you fast so that you are in ketosis when you start fasting
