Scam or Not? SIMS...

My ever questioning brain just cannot accept that this product works?
SIMS = Selective Insulin Muscle Sensitizer.
The "perfect" ingredients = Phellodendron Ext, Lagerstroemia Speciosa Ext.

Completely shuts down the fat cell's ability to store glucose and triglycerides while force feeding your muscle cells.

This is where I originally saw it, so I googled to find out what it was.

Then I came across those sites which claim unbelievable muscle gain with unbelievable fat loss at the same time. :blink:

Lets discuss SIMS, which "force-feed" your muscles!
I read on a forum the dude said after a plate of pasta, at night, after 20min his chest and abs would be pumped...
So, lets take this with a little salt, and look for research done, and if a SIMS does exist (even in scheduled form)..

I am busy reading about it on bodybuilding.com forum and these guys are having a go at each other cos there is no scientific proof, only work of mouth by sponsored people, gonna keep reading, getting interesting (Begins in 2007)

Sounds like the glucose went straight to the muscles and got converted to glycogen but after 20 minutes I cant believe that, and why only his chest and abs, why not his quads and all the other major muscle groups, it sounds dodge to me

Like I said, lets forget about the "testimonies" for now.

Is there something like a SIMS, can it exist?
Will it force feed muscles AND stop fat storage?

Haven't looked up the other plant but acidic tannins in Lagerstroemia Speciosa (Banaba) extracts certainly have some "SIMS" effect. They promote increase the number of glucose transporters found on the membranes of cells. Around 60%-70% as well as insulin. This means more glucose is taken in and converted to storage compounds like glycogen and fat. Both fat cells and muscle cells have these transporters. However the active in the extract also prevents fat cells from forming/growing if you will. So it prevents weight gain. So it possibly has a partitioning insulin effect. Does this result in muscle gain, or are muscle growth pathways also inhibited?

Certainly the extract has been shown in rats to prevent weight gain. What effect this has in humans is unclear, and how well it helps a bodybuilder I don't know. In addition without human studies it is not known if the plant extract has other toxic or undesirable attributes.

Wow. Ok, you are the eager beaver.

Listen bro, I think if your looking to give us feedback it should be on long term results. What I mean is if the acidic tannins have any benefit for the bodybuilder it will be over long term high calorie diets,
ie: "Wow guys, I spent six months on a super high calorie diet, I gained good quality muscle but amazingly I only gained half the fat I normally do on a bulking phase..."

You dig?
