i think that stimulant pre work outs are to be used when u are having flat days. i hate using them, first of all how does anyone eat a proper meal after a work out when using stimulants, i also feel to wired to function most of the time, i have had 2 scoops of jack3d out of a tub and wont take it again,it killed my appetite for 3 hours after my work out,i even wanted to bring up my post work out shake which usually goes down like mothers milk, also too many stimulants will cause a rise in cortizol levels which in turn can make you catabolic. ask Koe007 about using too many stimulants aka fat burners before his contest last year, he ended up being watery and smooth. we dropped them, cortisol levels dropped and he came in insane condition. rather use stimulant free pre work out drinks in my opinion and use the money for some fillet steak.

i remember reading something some where that hany rambod said you dont need stimulant based pre work outs, how many crack addicts are big? if u wanna get big stay away from them. not exact words but it is pretty damn true.

Ok so all of this makes sence, taking something like toast and jam,or a scone or something with some complex carbs like two hours before training is best?

I also do the oats and raisins. Is it worth adding 30g dextrose intra workout perhaps?

Oats/raisins & some water with beta alanine/L carnitine/arginine/taurine. If its a morning workout you can add a good espresso. Sounds like allot but goes down quickly. I'll never buy a pre workout again

Like PWOs for the focus and energy they give me, especially if I'm training 2 body parts in one workout coz strength and energy usually dips by the time I hit the 2nd muscle group. Just finished a tub of NO explode, solid if not spectacular. Currently trying out raw oats, cold milk and some spoons of sugar and its working great so far.

Will also be giving the muesli (aka oats and raisins) a go this week, any tips on preparation? Mixed the 2 with a bit of cold water or milk I take it?

Sorry guys Apparently it is true, cause its happened to certain people already, so I’m not taking any chances !!

Fact, all this crap about having explosive workouts true, but at what loss? Most now contain 1DM3 which is a vasocontricor. The idea is to get as much blood into the muscle as possible, the pre-workout seems to be counter productive, I was tired in CPT so I used Muscle Marinade insane workout but no appetite the rest of the day. That in my books is catabolic.
Best as the guys mentioned is DJ's age old Oats/Raisins it works. If you overly tired add Beta-Alanine with Niacin and Glutamine. That work's.

@ Koe007, how much (grams) Beta - Alanine would you use pre workout ? Is the Beta - Alanine you use a Pro 10 product ?

Has anyone here tried lit - Up, would it also be considered a stimmed pre workout ? It contains D-Asparatic Acid

I have used pre workout stims and I suppose it depends on your goals why you are using it, if they are good or bad. In my opinion they have a place in the market - especially if you want to cut and not bulk up. NEVER use long term.

Most stims contain some "ephedrine like" (1,3 DMAA) of sorts, which does contstrict your blood vessels. I always use L-Arginine with stims to help with vessel dilation. HOWEVER if you increase your weights whilst training it must have a building effect. Sure, catabolic afterwards, but have some glutamine or supplement to put you back in an anabolic state like a PWO drink. (Whey/Glutamine/Creatine/Dextrose/Maltodextrin)

BUT, heck we are all different and what works for one does not necessarily work for all ;)

This is where Noxipro has the edge in my book. Doesnt kill the appetite and isnt hard on the stomach.

JR, some people say that 1DM3 is a vasoconstrictor ? I also use NoxiPro but the main ingredient is 1DM3, just curious about your opinion
