Morning brothers. Over eating..definitely struggling big time with that one..always hungry and eating up my stockpile quickly. Training is a challenge yes. I miss the gym and the motivation that kicks in when you walk into the gym. I've got some old school federal weights..still those with the balls...heavy buggers, and some cement balls, wooden sleepers and chains. Been doing some training outside with them and they provide a good old school strength workout. Sticking to compound movements, carries, presses and squats. So far going well. Also kicking up the cardio a notch now with lots of skipping.

We have a power rack and about 220 kg of weights so workouts haven't really changed for us. I haven't pulled that much in a while, so it should be sufficient for the foreseeable future. The dogs make me run around the house every now and then so enough on the cardio front. As I work from home and with work being very busy at the moment I haven't had time to 'enjoy' the lock down yet.

The little one is taking it very hard though. But baby yoga on Youtube seems to work wonders. The missus and little one end up doing yoga, zoomba and all kinds of bendy and stretchy things. There is a lot of activities the kids can get involved in on Youtube. Digital nanny to the rescue.

I've made some fantastic progress since we last spoke, the cold is just a minor roadblock... I was planning to take a week off anyway. I bought the Powertec machine after my squatting accident, so injuries and broken benches are a thing of the past... these Powertec and BodySolid leverage machines are safe for guys that train alone at home and the quality is good so the welds shouldn’t crack, hopefully.

Nice man! Training on your own is pretty hectic when trying to load the weight. You finding your strength coming back nicely? You still got those oldschool Arnold weights ?

Very slowly, but I'm also 10+ yrs older so cannot expect to make the same gains.

You mean the Reg Park weight plates, still have them. Don't use them much since they have standard holes and my machines use olympic holes. I can have them drilled to olympic sizes, but don't really want to.

That's the ones I was thinking of. Na don't drill it, those are classics!

In times like this, I like to fall back to some Crossfot WOD's for some endurance and leaning out.

My go to WOD without weights: 'CINDY'

As many rounds as possible in 20 minutes:

Round:
5 Pull-ups
10 Push-ups
15 Squads

It's a killer...

Sore today, strong tomorrow!!!

Forgot to add i did it with my 10kg dumbbell. Goblet squats were the worse tho. Im naturally inclined to do pull ups so that wasnt the problem.

Did the squats instead in 25 rep versions and let me tell you it burned like hell !!!! Will up time everyday.

I think this is practical.

Well I had a binge fest for 3 days of lockdown and didn't even go outside my house let alone do any kind of training and gained 9kgs of water and fat :( but i finally got off the couch and been zero carbing the whole week to help me shed those kilos off. lost 4kgs so far.

I've got one resistance band and a 3kg dumbell. Also have x4 5lt water bottles here which i use as weights as well. just using a broomstick paired with the band creates a great barbell with nice resistance for a good tension and pump. I basically have a full workout schedule and am able to do my full training split that I'd normally hit when gym is open just a few exercises here and there are different. I'm actually enjoying the workouts alot and will definitely apply some of these banded exercises to my weight training regime when gym is open again.

For workouts, just mixing up some exercises I found on youtube from jeff nippard, athlean x,mountain dog, mike thurston and sadik hadzovic.

for cardio i walk around my yard, run up and down the steps that lead up to my swimming pool area and i walk up my steep driveway while walking down backwards. Pretty good routine if i say so myself :) working quite well

I bought a pair of adjustable dumbbells before I had a gym membership and they are honestly one of the best things I have ever bought. Before I train, I watch an athlean X video for “Best Dumbbell Exercises for ....(the muscle I want to train)”. They aren’t the best for strength training but I’ve started to focus on my form and utilise other pathways to build muscle such as hypertrophy and metabolic stress.
