@6K I'm sure it's Gen 3.
The Gen 4 has a ambidextrous (left and right hand) mag release, plus the various grips for bigger and smaller hands, and some other stuff...

As your main objective is not carry, I'll try a G17 they handle the Range shooting (as the experts say...) better, being a more acurate firearm with it's longer barrel. And also converts into a Sport shooting Firearm much easier than the compact versions.

Ammo is bitch, so choose wisely to what caliber you go.
The one thing to ponder is that, when a war breaks out, you run outta ammo. The most used caliber is 9mm NOT 10mm or .40. (Ja stupid scenario, but hey you gotta be prepaired, right...lol)

Ya the ammo scenario is annoying, my father does his own reloads for his 9mm so probably would be smart to get a 9mm. And I do like competitions so the 9mm would once again double up there.. .40 pretty much just has stopping power, but hopefully will never have to be in that situation so maybe 9mm is the better option..

To you it may look like I just did a push-up... But in fact, I just bench-pressed the world.

Howzit Chapel,

Did u manage to come right in getting a gun?

I applied for my competincy certificate yesterday and writing tests etc soon!
My old man is handing me down a .44 magnum with an 8inch barrel, obviously to impractical way to impractical to carry so going to use it for sport shooting/hunting..

But also want a smaller compact pistol to carry pretty much 24/7, I have my eye on the taurus 9mm 2011-955 seeing as ive grown up around taurus since my dad only has them.

did u finally decide which caliber to buy and have you got your license yet??

Still in the process hey.. Its a mission. But if I want to inherit all my family firearms I gotta get on it. eh .44 she's a monster. I decided on 9mm in the end purely from a cost point of view.

Chapel with a gun :unsure: , sounds like bad news to me ha ha ha :lol:. Just kidding.
I prefer rifles to handguns as i use them for hunting but for self defence or if you part of a shooting club i suppose a handgun is the way to go.

With hard work and dedication you can achieve anything!
