Well its official Van Persie has gone to Man U...but its all good with signings like Podolski, Cazorla and Giroud we will do just fine without him!

We also managed to milk Sir Alex for 20 million for a player in his last year of contract which is another win if you ask me lol

Buddy I don't think your not facing reality. Even if RVP scores half as many goals as he did last season it would have been a good buy. Arsenal supporters have been selling themselves lies since Thierry Henry left. I Arsenal will struggle to compete with Chelsea and the Manchester clubs.

And the fee is actually 15 million, the balance is based on his performance.

Modern10... first of all "Buddy I don't think your not facing reality" don't know what that means...unless its a typo and ur saying im not facing reality but it is you who is in dream land...

If you think for one second that spending that money 20- 22 million(following what skysports says and espnsoccernet) or even 15 miilion for a 29 year old player who had ONE yes ONE good season in his entire career, has one year left on his contract, who is injury prone and on the back of the worst form he has been in for a year(last 7 games of premier league and an AWFUL euro) is a good signing then wow...

you also say if he scores half of what he scored last season thats fine, are you joking??? so to you 20 million equals 18 goals thats more than a million pounds a goal, ya that sounds like a wonderful investment! you honestly dont think that welbeck could have done that for free?

As for your picture for a real laugh change those 3 faces to....

Christiano Ronaldo
Carlos tevez (holding a RIP fergie sign)
Ruud Van nistelrooy

Arsenal spent the 18th LEAST of any club in the premier league last season and finished 3rd thats a job well done in any profession around the world

the fee is actually 24 million pounds! which is 30 million Euros, for an injury prone striker almost in his 30s with one year left on his contract. you fools overpaid. but none the less i hope you enjoy that shark at united. after all the club has done for RVP, stood by him through all his injuries and inconsistent form, he doesnt have one ounce of loyalty in his body. i hope he fails his medical  what a shmuck, im ashamed of my username!!

i really hope this 24 million figure is true! i just watched skysportsnews and every time they mentioned it they said "if this fee is true" so it cant be official yet

Man Uninted's official website says they paid 20 million plus add ons which sounds about right and could be where ppl are getting 24 million from...

In any case we definitely ripped Sir Alex off lol

Can't believe I missed this thread. I can't believe RVP is gone. Too bummed!!!!!! I reckon Santi Cazorla is one of our best signings in a while. The guy's vision and long balls are freakishly good. Not too sure about Podolski though, I think his best days are behind him

From what you said i can see you watched some of the pre season matches and i agree cazorla has been an excellent signing he's like a more attacking paul scholes...

that said im also worried about Podolski but if he plays on the left he has to be better than arshavin and gervinho and chamberlain is still too young so all in all i think its going to be worth it

Podolski is a great player. he'll prove it this season. he is definitely an asset. agree about everything said about cazorla, he's an arsenal legend in the making

Just watched this and it has me very excited. @Mr T, Chamberlain may be young but if he is managed correctly and gets sufficient game time (not too much) he will shine more often than not. That boy has a hell of a future ahead of him.

@MRfeathers on second thought I think you may be right, and I believe the Wenger did a good thing by brining in an older more established player in Podolski. We need some wise "old" heads to balance out the youth (albeit very exciting youth)

As pissed as I am to see him go, I definitely think we got maximum value for him. Rather that than have him put in some half hearted efforts this season (probably be injured for most of it) and the watch him leave on a free transfer at the end of the season.

I think he is going to crash and burn at united, like Carrol did at Livershit

im quite perplexed about our formation for next season. i heard nigel winterburn saying that Podolski is going to replace RVP in the middle while Giroud will be used every now and then in different formations or from the bench. i thought podolski would be on the left and giroud down the middle. oh well i guess we will have to wait and see what happens. playing Podolski through the middle doesnt seem to be half a bad idea. he played great there for Koln last season

No i agree with you 100% Chamberlain is a brilliant player he just needs more experience and to further develop as a player, i just don't think he is ready to be first choice just yet, but certainly for the future...

@MRfeathers- im also disappointed to hear that because i also thought Giroud(striker) and Podolski(left) would play together rather than compete for a position, but as you say he played very well last year in that position so im excited to see how he performs!

Well at least Livershit had a worse start than us.

Can't believe we sold Song now too

Regarding Saturday's game, all I have to say is that Cazorla really looks the part. Found his feet very quickly for a player new to the Premiership. I like!!!

Don't really want to discuss the rest

Agree that Cazorla played well but i still think we need a big signing to fill VAN Pussys shoes.

ha ha yeah i did. i dont want to be associated with that muppet in any way! ha ha Aqueel mate, im at the business end of my cycle at the moment. are you trying to get my roid rage going?
i remember a few years when Arsenal were the elite team in Europe. i have every faith that we will regain that status. hopefully Wenger loosens the purse strings in January and gets us another forward, then i reckon we will push on for a decent season. but for now let me enjoy the fact that RVP is injured. im no Nostradamus, but i definitely saw this happening ;)

 ok ok i'll take it easy. Infact i'm actually hoping that arsenal has a good run this season, as well as chelsea coz that will make for a really interesting season and not just a 2 horse race like last season.

as for liverpool, they still suck. They're playing united this month, united are gonna lose for sure. Liverpool fans will be excited for the next few months...and then thats all their excitement for the whole season
