In my office there isnt a single BB. Healthy rivalry between Samsung Galaxy and iPhone. Android leading since app dev started.

S3 All the hardcore iPhone guys are dead quiet.... waiting for 5 to start throwing punches.

Samsung makes the processors for iphone apple is more like a side walk special its a mixture of different brands.

The galaxy S3 dominates all other phones on the market.

Even with the current ruling made by a jury of dimwits I don't think android will loose much market share. Android has something like 68.1% market share where as apple iOS has only got 16.9 with the rest of the shares been made up of other phones. Apple realised that the iphone and ipad could not compete on a technological front so they resorted to making petty claims in a court room.

Kkkyle, Apple design those processors themselves, they are only fabricated by Samsung. Samsung is making allot of money from Apple, so the $1 billion is probably only to be credited to Apple's account.

The new iphone is supposed to be 4 inches while the sg3 is 4.7 inches or something

it is a little big. but you get used to it. i love the bigger screen!

The first time i saw someone speaking on a samsung it was hilarious. The last time I saw someone with something that big next to their ear was the 90's.

Comming from BlackBerry which i worked with one hand i found it quite hard to adjust.
I'd prefer a smaller phone for practical purposes but all this functionality is overshadowing it.

How long does it usually take new iphones to reach SA once they have been launched overseas ?

I have about 3 months before I get a new contract !

Considering that all Samsung fans will have to switch to iPhone there will probably be a couple of months delay before the new iPhone reach our shores.... lol... just joking. Maybe about a month after the initial release.

I have a Blackberry, and no complaints here to be honest. I don't care much for all the added apps and functions of an android or iphone, I just want a phone, not a chargeable coffee machine. Sometimes I have browsing problems, and by "sometimes" I mean "very rarely". As for bbm, hey, I'm a student, it's free messaging (apart from the monthly fee of course, but it's like broadband, once off thing), and works way better than whats(cr)app.

I'm not one to go into the whole Android vs. Apple vs. Blackberry thing. If you like your phone, good, but no-one else cares. I just want a phone that I can make calls with or sms someone, the bbm function and all that is a bonus. I don't need a fancy camera or some app that shows me where I am currently at in the solar system.

That part of my comment wasn't aimed at anyone on this forum, I was referring to how annoying it is when people get all loyal about their phone and then start having a massive debate in public, as if it's a new religion or something.

I had blackberry a while ago and i never had problems i enjoyed the phone allot but you cannot compare it to the samsungs or iphones. I understand that you get annoyed with the constant debate about witch brand is better, i myself get annoyed sometimes but i ignore it .

ANYWAY....I spoke to people from vodacom today. It seems the slow service from around 5pm ish is actually a direct VODACOM problem and not a RIM or CrapBerry one. Apparently the vodacom grid is so overloaded as they have so many subscribers. Peak hours become a nightmare. They told me that vodacom is in the process of installing smaller transmitters within high subscriber areas to alleviate the pressure from the larger towers and "spread it out" for lack of a better reference.

So will have to wait and see.

They wanted to "upgrade" my software for R150 but said it wouldn't make any difference to what I am experiencing at the moment etc. So then I basically said what's the use of the upgrade then? Lol.

Did they go into what they meant by "upgrade ur software for R150"?

Maybe im missing something but software/firmware updates are for free, so im guessing its what they charge to do it for you, if thats the case then that is ridiculous :lol:

Apparently its admin playing Counter Strike Global Offensive..

I would not recommend upgrading the operating software on your bb , I upgraded it myself on my torch a while back but all it did was slow the phone down and make it more confused than it was before. I had to reinstall the old software.
