Do some of you guys also have those huge guys in the gym that are there every day and built quite well and then one day they show up in short and....... no legs at all, its like they skip the legs completely lol! Thy look like a Johny bravo haha. No but seriously how can one neglect there legs its not right and it looks kak if you don't have legs. I must say my legs are much bigger than my upper body and it fits better than having a huge upper body and tiny legs.

You have to remember that most people aren't competing so leg training's not the top of their agenda,"noone can see your legs on the dancefloor" is their motto. I enjoy training my quads even though they dont look great, hams and calves on the other hand I couldn't care less for

Sorry guys Apparently it is true, cause its happened to certain people already, so I’m not taking any chances !!

Legs are, in my personal opinion, my favourite body part to train! love the intensity needed!

Nice avatar. Where did you get it? Do you have a link?

Never feel sorry for yourself... Even if you're training hard, he might be training twice as hard. You just gotta keep coming back stronger.

I train legs religiously but they still dont grow as fast as my upper body, its genetics. Im working harder to bring them up to par with the upper half but it aint easy. Take one look at my dad and you'll see how far i've come

Um, but im scared of needles...

I hardly do my legs in the gym. Just do squats and leg press, most of my leg work is done at training lol pushing/pulling tyres, Strumming, etc.

Guys don't train legs because it makes you see your breakfast again, if you do it with vigor that is...love training legs, gets the test flowing through the veins, especially deadlifts....I'm lovin it....lol

I always wanted big legs. I NEVER miss hammies and calves and train them seperately from Quads. I can pitch up at gym with shorts. And YES - i laugh at guys with spider legs and huge upper body who do nothing about that.

my legs look small compared to my upper body, but i train it much harder than my upper body. unfortunately we all dont have good genetics with regards to legs and especially calves, but i agree that the mindset of "i dont have legs so im not gonna train them" is pathetic.

Training legs is a challenge I think that's why some people skip it they are not up to the challenge lol. There is nothing as good as a good leg session with you crawling back to the car.

BTW - I'll get any(Normal)body's calves to grow.

If they are'nt growing you are doing something wrong.
Like the clown at gym loading the Donkey calf machine with all the 20Kg plates in the gym and still has spider calves. Been doing it for freakin YEARS!

I never said its always easy. ;)

For me, many moons ago, the cybergenics training routine helped. You have to find what works for you, but i'll give you an idea of what my pl;ateau breaker looked like.

All drop-sets. Each drop 6-8 reps. Adjust weight to maintain the reps accordingly. 3-4 drops for each of these:

FULL RANGE. My heels touch the floor and i wear a size 8! Heels on floor to tip of toes.

Standing calves - toes forward.
Standing calves - toes in.
Standing calves - toes out.
Seated calves - toes forward.
Seated calves - toes in.
Seated calves - toes out.
Leg curls - toes pointed.

ALL SUPERSETTED makes 1 exercise. Do the round trip 3 times.

That quickly changed the shape of my calves. Nowadays they grow/shape/maintain nicely, albeit slower, by:

Standing calves.
Seated calves.

No supersets, just 3-4 drop sets each. FULL RANGE. You HAVE to feel the calve work - same as everything else. If you dont you might as well leave it. I know the pump is immense and painfull at times but you have to push through and do those extra reps to, and even past failure - cheat some if you have to.

I do sumthing similar also Jackrabbit1 with the whole three different toe routine except i don't do drop sets, i keep the weight the same but start at 10 reps then 15 then 20 then 25 then 20 then 15 then 10 reps. Plus u only rest say 5 secs in between. Just take of the weight and back on again. This kills my calves

I used to do that on a second "light weight" day. Sometimes i used to set the weight at 120 and do as many as i could with that 5sec rest. I'd get off and hobble around for a sec or 2 before getting back on. Do that until i cant breathe anymore then go home. My calves used to cramp up in the car on the way home and i would have to stop to rub them out!

You need to change your routine if it stops working. At this stage i think my calves match the rest of me and i get a real pump by doing just the basics. I must say that the get quite a workout with these deep squats and leg-presses as well. I see the deep grooves when i start pushing from real deep.

^^^ Sounds awesum Jackrabbit. I only recently started doing it this way so hopefully my calves won't get to quickly used to it. Today i triset my calves with my hammies before doing the above approuch and i couldn't walk. Did 90 degree leg press ( with heel ) directly followed by calve press on the 90 degree machine then directly followed by deadlifts, i almost puked.

But this year's focus is alot on my legs. So im really suffering at the moment.
