USN Body Building comp in Springs?

Hi guys, Was anyone at the USN Body Building comp in Springs a few days ago?
i have a few questions to ask if any one was watching or competing?

we had a young black guy from Botswana who entered.

he was told by many judges and sponsors that he had the best body and should have won. The crowed loved him and was behind him all the way but he was voted out early.
he is under the impression that is was dew to his skin colour. I am not so sure about that.
i am not sure if you know who i am talking about but id like to know what he could do to improve
should he get bigger?
was his posing not up to standard?
or should be turn white?

what info do you need to know which guy i am talking about? his number and weight category?

this guy is 24 and has a body like a roman God and id like to do all i can to help him.
so i hope you can assist!

What class was he in? Skin colour has nothing to do with it...

Skin color really has nothing to do with it, except if ur tan is done really shit. Then ur tan wil make u place 1 or 2 places under wer u shuda been.
The crowds like their friends,family and so on. That doesnt say much buddy.
He must have weak points which he doesnt see, its an overall package and not just the ripped, or best symetry or the biggest. It has to do with a whole of a lot more.
He could have been really bad at posing as i have seen alot of black guys SUCK at the posing.
They put up a great show, but no real posing.

U should attend a judging seminar sometime and find out what u can ther. i am on the commitee for a big federation in SA and u cant always make every1 happy with the judging as no1 competes to come 2nd....if u get my drift. Every1 wants to win.

This guy is still young and i am sure he has many faults. i am going to get his comp details to see if Jk can remember him.
it would be good if i could get some constructive critics on him so we can see the best way forward..
i am sure he has a great future in the sport!

jeeees why is it that skin color gets brought into things,first off JUDGING in sa is SHIT! they first of all sit to close to the competitors, they cant actually judge symetery and proportions from this close.all they are able to see is muscle size,and condition....yet if you look at over seas judging the judges are 20m away from the competitors...

i mean come on... lets look at SA judging vs overseas. John Lesley won all his line ups this past year,beating andrew hudson,all he has is mass,he is not very pleasing to the eye yet overseas when judges sit further back and can see proportions and symettery andrew hudson places 12th and john lesely didnt even place.the only picture i could find is of his 1 gammy leg on line...

as Romp3l said....ALOT OF BLACK GUYS SUCK AT POSING!!! if you can hold a pose for 30seconds and someone else is holding that pose for 2-3minutes every time the judges look at him the one is standing relaxed and the other is hard..which is gonna win? also a big genetic flaw with some black guys, HAMSTRINGS,CALVES AND QUADS! yes he might be shredded to the bone(which most black guys come in,conditioning is insane!) but if u are lacking things u are gonna loose! you gotta realise its got fuck all to do with skin color...your botswana friend might've looked like the clear winner off the stage but put him on stage next to someone else who is competing and doing comparisons and thats where he is gonna loose be it if he is black,white,coloured,indan,purple,green or from outter space...as the end of the day you are all the same color when you got tan on!

The colour thing will always come into play, its just what we have to accept, even if it in not true..

Ok the guy was competing in the novice over 80kg and his number was 16
he tells me that his group was not able to pose, he was not quite sure why! they only did front and side shots.
he said he has pics from the competition so i will post those.
he said to take photos of him now will do him no justice as his body has already changed..

possitives : good back width,decent chest and good quad size good clavical width and decent size delts.

negatives : conditioning not good,too much water in the lower back and hamstrings still holding fat.hands to high in rear pose,lats not flexed enough in the read pose.

no hamstring glute seperation,minimal quad hamstring speration,condition is watery and still holding fat hence no ribs or intercostals showing,minimal stiations across the chest showing still holding water and fat.

no stiations in the quads showing water retention,to much water being held over the ribs,shoulder to high in he lat spread.

abs are flat indicating fat and water being held,quads still no striations same reason above.

no ribs and intercostals showing,water being held.calves not hard enough.

that my friend is why your mate didnt win the show,he could've been green and polka dotted for all we care but his conditioning is till about 25% off what it needs to be... he needs to drop another 5-6kgs of fat and the same in water to come in hard.....those are the hard and fast facts not cos he is black its cos he wasnt good enough to win.

DJ thanks so much for you input, i will go through it with him.
I have already changed his mind in the (colour) issue, he has accepted his loss like a man.
the good thing is he is really exited to be getting the professional feed back.

I completely agree with DJ. He has great potential, awesome build with some solid legs and an amazingly wide back. That front lat pose is impressive. But is conditioning is far off and his posing isnt too great. Other than that i'd say arms could do with a bit of work, bi's and tri's are overpowered by those big delts. But the reason he didnt win?
