New Gym in Claremont

Hey All,

I thought I would let you all know first hand about the opening of my new gym in Claremont

Its a strength and performance facility, geared towards performance and athletic development rather than your traditional machine based VA setup.
Other than the above we are also opening directly beneath Virgin Active, they will be bringing 11,000 people past our front door every week!
Opening date is scheduled for 15th November!

If any of you are in the area or visiting the area then please come by and have a look once open. It would be great to get support from sites and members like you all on here - help us take on the big guys!

Hi DC EVO, that's really awesome. It's a good marketing stategy putting it next to VA. Just got to make sure your fees are competitive and you'll get tons of business. It's always exciting starting a new business venture... Good Luck with it. Pity I'm not in CT as I would have liked to check it out.

@StuartF - thanks for the vote of confidence in our strategy price is never really an issue for us. We generally charge at the top end of the scale at our Tokai facility as well but the results we get with our clients and the added service, knowledge, dedication etc you get when you train with us is far superior to anything currently offered at your typical VA or PF.

Congrats bro, competition will be tough as you'll be the 4th gym within a 200m radius (VA, PF, Body Fitness). I'm just glad that your one offers a free 2 week membership for members on this forum :whistle:

hahaha - if only we offered membership?!

We offer completely different stuff to the other gyms in the area and pretty much everywhere else around here so in many ways we're not actually competing. Our Tokai gym is across the road from VA as well and it does us no harm at all We even have trainers from there who pay for PT sessions with us!

Will seriously consider joining up just for that damn GHR! I can only imagine the trouble you went to to get it, tired of having to lock my feet at the bottom of a hack squat to do this exercise. Am I right in assuming there's no smith or cable station (lol) though?

We did find it hard to get one, in fact all our equipment is not easy to come by as SA just doesnt make anything! Well nothing that we want to buy anyway

I normally tuck my feet under the lat pulldown pads and go that way, but it is far from ideal.

We have a fully adjustable dual pulley station - we can hook a pulldown bar onto that, or a neutral grip bar for various forms of pulling movements. Plus all the normal rotational and rehab stuff.

Definitely no smith machine - best exercise (IMO) for that is either hanging a TRX off it or doing pull ups when the pull up bar is busy

Sounds like a phenomenal gym. Would love to come by and take a look at it when im in CT next month

Hey Spike - we open this gym in November so unfortunately not in time for your visit but our other gym is in Tokai, pretty much the same kind of set up.

Thanks bro, im coming down at the end of October to visit a mate, will definately make a plan to hook up with you then. Will be in the thick of my little twisted cycle round then, at the tail end of the anapolan, so will HAVE to train

How far is Claremont from Kenilworth? Sorry I don't travel a lot but ima coming to Ctn in December for a week will be nice to drop by.

The suburbs of Kenilworth and Claremont are adjacent to each other.

With everyone planning to visit DC's gym why not organise a training day of some sorts? To those who are cagey we can even throw in some Laserquest and toffee apple to sweeten the deal :lol:
