there is no point in my opinion as there is no sugar base to shuttle the creatine to the muscles,i would just load the salt if i was u and keep the water intake high,that should keep your muscles full and hydrated...u will need to refeed once a week to replenish those glycogen stores...

hahaha,have u started your diet yet bro? remember 2 weeks before the first refeed!!! stay strong, i have been dieting now for 11-12 weeks and i am down from 114 to 97 and still need to get down to 86 so i can tell u now that keto is easy and u dont feel hungry,its such a winner having the weekly cheat meal and then u pig out and come in leaner than the week before...

Yes I finished my second week and have lost 6kg, I enjoy taking sundays as a cheat day and I mean a cheat day. I guess it is a bit much but it is so lekka, the rest of the week I am pin point spot on the keto, don't loose as fast I suppose. ;)

Rather has a single cheat meal vs a cheat day,i find in a good cheat day i can pack in over 8000calories with eating so much junk.Rather keep it to 2hours and make it your last meal of a sunday,so eat what u want,the biggest cheat meal i've had is 2medium pizza's,3/4 of a cake,2slabs of chocolate,2l of coke and a packet of sugar coated nuts.Thats all in 2hours..Keep it short and sweet bro.

"kin "ell, my cheat meal is fruit salad and ice cream. I don't think I could handle half of that without doing some interior decorating :)

What u need to realise is that u have depleted your body of all its glycogen over a whole week by doing intense weight training and with the lack of calories your leptin levels start to fall causing your metabolism to slow to halt sometimes(if u stop pooping then u know your metabolism has slowed) now by eating like that will replenish glycogen stores,and boost leptin levels as well as thyroid levels for the week,u will retain some water as for every gram of carbs your body will hold on to 3grams of water so if u have 300g of carbs u will hold on to 900g of water in your body/muscles and thats why u look full when u start carbing up when u are so depleted..So eating a crap load will send your metabolism into over drive and u will end up being lighter 2 days after your cheat meal.Also its your cheat,and make it that,have what ever u have been craving during the week,if u wanna have kfc then have it,if u want peanut butter and syrup sandwiches have them,if u want pizza have it,its your 1hour grace period on a sunday night,it will keep u sane.

salt makes u retain water,retaining water will keep your muscles hydrated. protein and fats have a diuretic effect so u need to keep yourself hydrated.

I was thinking of total calories, but what you say about the leptin levels and metabolism makes sense.
Will try gorging for a couple fo hours today and see how I feel during the week.

Dave palumbo reccommends abouyt 300g of carbs (500g max) for your cheat meal and he has been slowly converting to a cleaner (vs junk) recently.

DJ could I ask you:

- what have you been having for your cheat meal? (on average - not your 8000kcal) cos I am also on palumbo diet and loving the whole thing!

- After the cheat meal, does it take 3/4 days or so to reach ketosis again (I take about 2/3) thus only being in ketosis for anout 4 days or so?

I alternate my cheat meals,last week i had my family over so we had home made burgers,i had in total for that day: 375g lean beef mince patties,3bread rolls,1/2 a kg of oven bake chips,4slices of pineapple,carnalised onions,cheese,tomato sauce,two massive bowls of an orange and raisin pudding with curtard,and two small bars of orange lindt chocolate. This week i'm having mac and cheese with pork sausages and chocolate pudding with ice cream and more orange chocolate and some fanta grape to finish it off..i go all out on my cheat meals as i'm training extremely hard with an average of 2hours cardio a day sometimes 3,weight training and low calories,when i cheat,i intend cheating,another cheat meal i had was,6 full eggs,bacon,cheese,sausage,4 slices of toast,100g of oats cooked in milk with syrup and a banana and about half a box of museli and a tub of chocolate yoghurt.my thing is i will eat till i feel sick and that way i know i want to get back on my diet and rip it up.

china u are gonna be like a chocolate softserve machine,i would've swapped the watermelon and guava roll for more of a hearty burger or something like that but thats me,i usually keep the sweet stuff till last cos i find as soon as i have sweet things my insulin spikes and i can fit more in,the joys of used to being a fatty lol...

THink I should stick to more starch carbs on cheat days? I was thinking I never have fruit, so try load when I can to get the nutrients.

BTW I didn't feel so good last night-stomach cramps from hell. Won't go that big on the prunes again :)

i always have scopex and eno's around for the night of a cheat meal,i can get some sleep that way,i also keep a towel handy cos i get the carb sweats...
