I foresee December time tons of home fitness stuff for sale, will be able to pick up weight plates for a steal once everyone gets bored at home.

I am actually thinking of getting more stuff. Just a few, and more in the line of crossfit. Things I can do outside on my lawn. Just very basic stuff.

All I have right now, are 4 sets of kettlebells and a weighted sand bag.

I had to go shop today, and I was surprised at the low stock levels at Clicks and Pick 'n Pay.

At my Clicks, the "health section" was only half full, lots of empty shelves. It's almost as if people started panic buying again.

Since the start of lockdown, I've never seen Clicks so low on stock.

I spoke to a lady in Pick 'n Pay, and she couldn't find Disprins. I think we are going through a second wave of "Covid shopping".

Unless something more sinister is going on, that we don't know about, like a further crash in the economy, and suppliers running low.

The only way I was able to get equipment was by paying sales guys at the shop to inform me when stock came in while they were still processing it before it hit the floor. I was going a few times a week to check and there was no interest to tell me when stock was coming in and id always miss something, this was right after they were allowed to open. As soon as i gave the guy cash I got stock a day later. I'm not not sure now with sportsmans and other places using international supply and the ports and transport. I hope you come right.

Home gym equipment used to be one of the worst investments you could make from a monetary value point of view, but I guess the pawn shops finally managed to sell all the old equipment they've been sitting with for years. haha

Hey guys, I checked with admin and got permission to post those links. That's a buddy of mine who has access to limited amount of equipment and some resistance bands if anyone's interested in getting.

Maybe you can advertise as a trainer, and make some money that way.

Haha I think I'm the one that needs a trainer at this point, just too demotivated.

I understand. My story is different. I am "recovering" from TRT.

I am upping my dose a bit, and it is almost August ... and after that, summer !

So I am being hopeful. I must admit, upping my dose a bit, helped me a lot during winter (June/July).

You will laugh at my current exercise routine. If things go the way I plan, I will share my story with the group at the end of the year (when I get my life back).

Yeah that would be great Bro we'll get back into the swing of things soon, only time will tell.

What are you using to recover from TRT ?

Reminds me of my school days. There was no money, so you took some coffee or big(ish) paint cans, a pipe or steel bar, filled the cans with cement, and built your own "equipment".

I also had a pull up bar, made from 2 wooden poles, planted / cemented in the ground, with a steel bar bolted to them.

I had no idea people were willing to invest so much at a time on gym equipment.
If the other parts of my business were not more important (read profitable lol) then I would go full time into production.

One of my guys even suggested I created a brand and name it .

Don't recall that you told me exactly what equipment you produce. you should show us, because you might have something with great potential there. I have Powertec and Body Solid multi gym machines and always looking for more equipment.

I'm also keen to buy equipment although I am currently training at a gym. Always wanted to have a home gym.

Hey guys,

This could be very cool, maybe a catalogue with all things guys on here have on offer?
Been a pain in the ass finding decent equipment (even new).
There is only one company I can confidently vouch for in JHB for steel manufacturing (bars racks etc).
Happy to share the name if the rules allow for it.

I would really like to build myself a Cable Cross Over machine like this one. There's no tube bending involved which is hard to do unless you have the right equipment and I'm a really proficient welder. Have not looked yet, but is it possible to buy weight stacks? If not one can easily modify the design to take olympic plates.

Enigste probleem is dat die handvatsel nie na middel verstelbaar is nie. Kan slegs uit die twee boonste hoeke of twee onderste hoeke getrek word. Ander een wat ingewikkelder is om te bou kan verstel.

I wish I had welding skills for that. I bought a body solid machine that uses both weight plates and a weight stack from thegymshop.co.za. They said I could buy a 70kg weight stack at a later stage for about R6000. For R6k you could rather get 150Kg of weight plates for a plate loaded solution.

My plan for a a cable crossover solution is to put mount two modified punching bag wall brackets with added pulleys on opposite walls in my garage gym like this below:
