i cannot comment on the advertising and marketing of USN. all i can say is that if you feel that the models are not truelly representative of the what the products do, then you cannot beleive the 'hardcore' messages that companies like MuscleTech send out in their advertising. Jay Cutler, Dexter Jackson and others are clearly not steriod free, and there is no way that the product that they are advertising can solely be responsible for the visual result.

jee and shameen adams is natural too...

this is an open discussion forum, which means we are open to say what we like a bout a product and guess what,we dont have nothing that we like about usn's products.get it? got it? good. stop endorsing a product that just gives u a good whack of profit every month all u are doing is conning the uninformed out of their money.

i only use local brands because i beleive that imported products are too expensive. before imported ranges where as popular as they are now, you all used local brands and you never complained. why are you complaining now?

Nutrition Lab is local as well and they rock.
BTW: I get whey from Clover and that is imported as well for R68 per Kg....

Now you are attacking everyone using steroids... including me...

You will be amazed at the business skills of some members here and you can learn a thing or two from them.

I am currently having a "mailing war" with a guy from USN who says if we have solid proof that whats on the label is not in the tin, we must bring it forth and he will check the batchs....

Further more he kinda claims that stuff that "works fast" have anabolics in them whilst the label claims it doesnt!

I get all my creatine, glutamine ect from a registered pharmacutical Lab.

These are the guys that import or manufacture "raw" substances and then sell them to local companies.

When I spoke to the guy last time he told me they tested a product manufactured in SA that was made with their ingredients but that the concentration was off. (Wont say who)

Upon querying this he was told the margin of error was about as broad as the N1

Bottom line - even if you can prove anyone use fillers ect it will come down to the fact that they for instance allow a 20% margin of error. And this will be printed in fine print and thus perfectly acceptable.

He will check the batches?

Should of done that from the word go.

I wonder how much it would cost for a sample to be tested.

Never fraternize with them as equals, never accept them as your social equals or they will devour you, they will destroy you.

K gents this is a huge subjects, im holding usn muscle fuel as we speak and evox fusion creatine on the other hand. I wanted to suggest that we can check the sabs(south african bureau of standards) status but they don't have the sabs stamps on them so who actually checks the standards of the products? And are who do they answer to if they provide false information who do they answer to?

knwledge is the key. research does not hurt

Maybe we should make a poll on this (ADMIN!)

Most guys hate USN. What I've found is that their products are merely just cheap imitations of other "better known" companies. Albeit, there are some decent local companies manufacturing top grade stuff.
My personal favourite among the local industry is Supplements SA.

For the guys who've got ca$h to spend... go imported.

BodyBuilding.com's Supplement Awards page is good round up of the best imported stuff. And it was their member who actually voted, so im sure there was no bribery going on (I think :P)

Check it out on : www.bodybuilding.com/fun/supplementawardwinners.htm

Working closely with the dischem supplement managers around Durban and other stores like Gateway health while employed by USN i know for a fact that USN gives them incentives for pushing their products and obviously the stores have their own targets as well so know harm in them giving cash out (NOT SUPPLEMENTS AS NONE OF THE SALES MEN WANT USN GEAR) but the fact that USN is by far the leading supplement supplier in S.A is alarming!

I will not touch USN gear as its no where near what it says it is!All that sugar in their shakes makes it a perfect supplement to gain a gut!

Come on guys they spend more money advertising than any other brand and in turn have caught the consumers eye its to be expected! The truth is people actually know FUCK ALL about supplements and USN has promoters all over stores been given bull shit product info and are swamping the market!

When in doubt look at the price!Imports are the way to go as far as local brands are concerned SSN AND SPS are brilliant and affordable as well as muscle works!

From somebody that worked for USN and knows the value of the product at cost there is no way you can be paying for what they say is in there!

Useless Sports Nutrition

Funny you guys should mention the testing at a lab thing. We have a Prof. of NWU university working at the company i work at.I went to discuss USN and other local supplements with him and he told me that they took a range of USN products to a testing lab at NWU after they realised the USN products giving to the atheletes had NO results. The tests came back that the products manafactured here are of sub standard value.I wasnt surprised because for the past few months I have been using :

- USN creatine monohydrate
- Biogen Creatine Ultra load
- Biogen Protein product
- Evox 5xl muscle meal
- SPS no.Blast
- SPS Testosterone booster (pills)
- USN methodx17 (pills)

I started in December and have faith that my Diet and gym exercise plan are fullproof! SO here we are 3-4months later and I can say that I am completely dissapointment with the results. My goal was to put on weight and build a fair share of muscle and i basicaly gained about 5-6kg in total.I am sure that 5-6kg I put on was just cuz of all the Eggs and Potatoes I was shoving down my face to get those extra Protein in! I could honestly of saved that 3k and listened to my cousin that had results with a produc like muscletech celltech after he told me forget about the rest and just get the above product.I wouldve paid R900 for 3.2kg of celltech hardcore and use a good protein product from ON or muscletech.:-/

What I am going to do though is from April I will go over to Muscletech Celltech for 2-3 months. So atleast I will be able to come back to this forum and have a testament of some sort.

Catsmasher:
SPS supplements are top top notch bru, iam surprised you didn't get good gains from testo-RX and a big diet. Maybe your diet isn't in check- post it up because that's the core of anything.
As for the usn story, they always have and always will be money grabbing dickheads with no substance and lots of noise.
Also just a suggestion instead of taking out a personal loan for muscletech check out the basic sups website (lsj) stuff and get your basics from there and maybe add a product or 2 from name brands after that like testo-rx etc.
