First world troubles hey.

To you it may look like I just did a push-up... But in fact, I just bench-pressed the world.

Its legs day, legs day, gotta get down on legs day.

Does any of this sound familiar?

If your weekly routine doesn’t include a leg day, you’re a gym idiot.
If you sacrifice form for weight, you’re a gym idiot.
If you don’t re-rack weights, you’re a gym idiot.
If you block access to free weights because you need to lift 6 inches in front of the rack, you’re a gym idiot.
If you think you can crunch your way to a six pack, you’re a gym idiot.
If you walk around puffing out your invisible lats, you’re a gym idiot.
If you think whey or creatine are steroids, you’re a gym idiot.
If you haven’t made progress in months and haven’t changed anything, you’re a gym idiot.
If you think the squat rack is an acceptable place to do 65lb barbell curls, you’re a gym idiot.
If you talk more than you lift, you’re a gym idiot.
If you spend more time creepily eye-fucking the women in the yoga class than lifting, you’re a gym idiot.
If you bounce the barbell off your chest while bench pressing, you’re a gym idiot.
If you let your balls touch the tile in the steam room, you’re a gym idiot.
If you stand in front of my bench in the middle of my set, you’re a gym idiot.
If you shadowbox yourself in the mirror after every set, you’re a gym idiot.
If you leave 10 plates on the leg press, you’re a gym idiot.
If you don’t get parallel when you squat, you’re a gym idiot.
If you think focusing on nutrition is optional, you’re a gym idiot.
If you’re singing/rapping aloud to whatever you’re listening to, you’re a gym idiot.
If you squat 400 but only have a 5 inch range of motion, you’re a gym idiot.
If you wear a polo shirt and jeans during your workout, you’re a gym idiot.
If you can complete a set of lat pulldowns in under 5 seconds, you’re a gym idiot.
If you use wrist straps for 25lb. dumbbell curls, you’re a gym idiot.
If you leave salty ball sweat on the equipment, you’re a gym idiot.
If you put cologne on in the locker room before your workout, you’re a gym idiot.

Shut up and Squat!!

ROFL I'm so glad I am not the only one who gets pissed off at idiots in the gym! At least the anger/rage makes me lift even more as i imagine bashing his face in. What pisses me off is this

- One day there was a skinny rat with his f'ing BB in his hand. Our campus gym only has ONE place where i can use dumbells seated to do my shoulders. Now this prick is sitting there with is 110lb body doing around 10 sets (I'm not exaggerating) and between each set he sits and sends bbm's for around 3 minutes.

- These fools that you can see don't really have an idea of what they're doing and the only reason they have some muscle is cause they most likely used juice wrong and probably f'ed up all their kidneys in the process cause they drink every day. Then they swing these big ass weights around that is probably a third of their body weight and it looks like the gonna snap a joint or something cause they try and do the movement @300km/h with shit form (Come on - didn't have physics in school?)

- Walking up to a guy that you see doesn't know what he's doing and asking him how many sets he has left, or whether you can use a piece of equipment that is lying next to him and he isn't using - then he gives you a dirty look and a shit answer!

If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you

DJ, are you familiar with Better Bodies Gym?
Is it possible to get in touch? I have made awesome progress and my training programs are great, but the nutrition needs tweaking. You do coaching?
(I hope I am not breaking any forum rules here  ??)

I started my training at Ralph's Gym, then joined Joe's Gym in Parow. Its simple:
- no towel, no training
- replace weights or get blixemed
- hurry up and move along

But things have changed and we only have access to the VA's where every 2nd guy looks like Bieber with the Puma this and YMCMB that. Even most females trained harder and has more etiquette. They also don't hog machines.

The problem is actually gym staff who fail to address those who disregard others. If you want to leg press 100 kgs, rack back your plates. I do mine after a 600 kg leg press.

And for most guys who are serious, I agree, Monday I officially take a break. Chest on a Saturday is much better, legs or back a Sunday too.
