Great all round performance, even if it was against Fiji. Scrum was fantastic (no surprises, Fiji can't scrum), line out was efficient (despite injuries), the breakdown is where we ABSOLUTELY annihilated them. With us playing with 4 looseforwards (at the end 5 as well as Bismark), we just blew them out of the water, with Burger (JR's favourite) my man of the match.

Morne Steyn had his best game of the year, Frans' running and distribution allowed our backs to run riot. Only downside was FdP hopefully having one bad game too many now, this bullshit has to come to an end soon

Sorry guys Apparently it is true, cause its happened to certain people already, so I’m not taking any chances !!

And how was that little legend, Heinrich Brussouw. That little chip kick to Frans Steyn was phenomenal.

So DG, are you slowly changing your opinion on Morne. Couldn't fault him in that match - great distribution, defence, kicking, the works...

Hopefully they keep Frans Steyn at centre.

Talking about a change of opinion, Dannie Rossouw had an excellent game and actually played out of his socks. Frans at 12 has made a big diff. We had a really good performance, lets just hope we can keep it up. So happy that the ausies got their asses handed to them :woohoo:

Great to see the Ausies lose, but it's going to make our road to the final that much more difficult if Australia come in second in there pool. :(

Stu I have to agree with you there, our WC record against the Ozzies isn't the best but having won the S15 and trinations they might have done a NZ and peaked too soon. Ireland might well have turned us over considering their recent record against so this could be a blessing in disguise :)

Oh and w.r.t. MS it'll take a lot more than just a solid performance against FIJI to convince me but at least he raised his game which is more than we can say about FdP

@Dave I still can't believe Mvovo isn't part of the squad but Ndungane is, not enough was made about that in the media IMO

@00pump agreed, we defended as a unit and we attacked as a unit, it was very encouraging indeed and hopefully we won't change when playing against the bigger teams

Sorry guys Apparently it is true, cause its happened to certain people already, so I’m not taking any chances !!

Geez, where do I even begin? First of all well played to the Wallabies, their defence and Pocock won them the game. Our best performance of the year sees us sent home, absolutely gutting. We dominated them in every aspect of the game bar the breakdown, and that was due to Bryce Lawrence allowing it to be an absolute mess.

Pocock had a stormer but most of the time he was either beaten by the ruck or continued to play the ball even though the ruck had form. Players constantly off their feet and in through the side. The passes were forward ok I can accept that, but can someone explain why Oz got the put in into the scrum even though James O'Connor was held up in the maul, when the same call went against us 2 minutes earlier! And the last scrum of the game the ball clearly went backwards off Matfield! Absolutely disgraceful refereeing.

Many will say we lost it when Brussouw went off but he was a bit ineffective up until that point and FLouw was better suited to dealing with Pocock physically anyway. The amount of turnovers we conceded was ridiculous, a lot of it was our own fault but quite a lot of cheating went unnoticed (most likely ignored). We should've got A LOT more scrum penalties than we did as the Ozzies were constantly infringing, scrumming at an angle, hinging, walking around take your fucking pick.

We lost this game back when the squad was first announced, as Stransky said this morning "no team has ever retained the WC because management has a tendency to keep picking the same guys who did the job 4 years earlier". Smit, FdP, Habana, Pietersen, James and de Villiers were fortunate to have made the squad (yeah I know they played well today but point remains).

All 4 remaining teams play running rugby and all the forward orientated "finals rugby" teams have gone home. The change of rules and the way the game is being reffed probably required a change of style of play for this tournament, PdV and the senior players refused, and now we're out in the QF. Fuck.

Well at least PdV's gone, I don't have to hear that cunt Bob Skinstad anymore and WP will get a few boks back for the remainder of the Currie Cup :)

I am absolutely gutted, it makes it so hard seeing the boys defeated by a disorganized, frankly quite lucky Auzzie team. We cannot be faulted in the way we played, i mean we had 76% territory for F&%#@ sakes. I'm sorry but how can a ref like Bryce Lawrence be allowed to ref a match of that importance. It's an absolute disgrace. He had a terrible track record going into the match and he proved once again that he lacking fundamental knowledge of the rules of the game. Australia won because of turn-overs and 99% of them were due to the Auzzies stealing our ball when the ruck was formed. What a shocker, NO HANDS IN THE F&*%$@#G RUCK!!!!! Geez it pisses me off.

   :(

@Wayne, he was an overrated showpony of a player (no wonder he loves Spies so much) and is now a one-eyed idiot of a pundit. Absolutely hate him. "Sports Journalist" my ass.

Wow. I know not everyone loves him, probably due to his good looks, but Bob was a brilliant rugby player. He could have been a lot more, if not for injury. Yes, some of which was self-induced.

He's a far better commentator than Breyton Paulse, for instance, who should probably stick to Afrikaans, rather than assassinate English. Skinstad also blased Spoes, and said he lacked vision.

Gifted he was. Brilliant he was not. Hiding in the backline and popping up with tries does not make you a brilliant forward. Much prefer Paulse actually though his english sucks he at least offers some form of analysis and insight into the game, I've seen drunk supporters at bars less biased and more insightful than Skinstad. He offers absolutely nothing but a pretty face for TV (no homo)

@Stu, lmao sad part is that wanker will probably be reffing s15 and trinations again next year. The IRB is even worse than FIFA when it comes to ignoring poor ref performances

And good to see that PdV has done the decent thing and not retracted his resignation... :pinch:

Skinstad played out of his skin in the last world cup and prior to that...He was not good enought to replace Teichman when he did, but give him some credit, he was decent...and deserved to be part of the winning world cup team!
