on topic....any cheap food with a high protein count...raisins, lean biltong (ostrich) peanut butter is a good one. Theres actually a tone of stuff that is low cost that has a high quality protein count available out there.

no not as high as the others mentioned but still approx 3g per 100g and they make a good snack if you combine them with nuts

I disagree. 3g per 100g is low. Raisins are good for causing insulin spikes post workout but I dont think they are good to snack on with peanuts...for the resaon of the insulin spike of course

which is caused by the increase in blood sugar right? I just find that a really small amount of raisins gives a great energy boost if a bit tired in the day. I dont have a lot of them as they do have a bit of a sugar content.Perhaps before a workout?

Yes due to the increase in blood sugar. They are great before a workout if you are feeling run down but remeber with every insulin spike there is a dip too when your blood sugar drops again and you'll feel tired. So its best to try stabilize your blood sugar levels throughout the day
