Not trying to be a dick at all, but how did you work this out:

5% Carbs (25-30g)
60% Fat
35% Protien (220g)

At a glance, your fats are closer to 30% of around 1750cals.

Huh? You've got 15ml in your diet. Even 30ml is only 28g of fat. Where's the other 300g?

That makes more sense. Thought you were referring to macros per gram rather than cals

Unless you're planning to get skinny, keto is pointless. Sadly most people end up hooked on it like it's a religion.

Eidolon- dude I really do appreciate die input man. I also still struggle to wrap my head around Keto but want to stick it out. Common belief is that you can build lean mass on keto if you protien is min 1g per lb of body mass.

I am primarily trying to cut fat without sacrificing muscle mass. Hoping this experiment does not end in disaster though.

I hear you. For muscle building, you need at least 2g/kg of protein though. Most of the keto literature is aimed at natty fat people.

I've been wanting to say that for a long time. You know your shit Eid, sorry I missed all this as I was eating again. Eat eat eat. Makes me sick.

Anyway dadbod, no excuses for a dad bod. Lots of us here are older fellows, hang around, take advice and you'll be shocked how you look 6 years down the road. Yes it takes long but it's worth it. Eidolon gave you some great advice so can Furk and many others.

If I never found this site I would still be 100 kg at 198cm. Was thin ripped and a boxer plus wanna be weight lifter at the same time. Turned out I had to choose and went for physique, couldn't be happier. You'll be there soon.

Keep asking the right questions!

I'm just freakishly tall, my dad's brothers the same - 13 of them. Although only 8 left.

Two things from POV:
1. Diet isn't Keto unless you actually test your ketone levels using a blood ketone monitor. At the protein levels you eating I can say with confidence that you are not in ketosis. You liver will be converting all the excess protein into glucose through the gluconeogenisis process. In my experience the hybrid Keto/ which is the diet you are on doesn't allow you to adapt to fat burning properly and leaves you feeling low on energy because of the low carbs. There are many people that have made great gains on proper keto- the only negative I found when doing it properly is your ability to do High intensity workouts that tap into you're anaerobic pathways is severely llimited. It's great for endurance training. At the end of the day you need to experiment with what works for you - each person is different. Personally I felt great on proper keto, could do a 4 hour bike ride fasted but struggled when the intensity went up. I furthermore never got really lean on it. I get leaner on lower fat - just me.
2. A big factor with age (I am 42 so it's first hand) is that estrodial levels play a major part in bf. I recently had to cut my test levels down because even on 3mg of letro per day my estradiol was over the upper end of the reference range. I could build muscle but not lose fat. I cut the test levels down to 175mg per week, upped the non aromatising gear, maintained the letro and now with the estradiol under control the bf has dropped from 15% to 10% on the identical diet. Get bloods - check test, estroidal, thyroid function, vitamin D, HBA1C (to see what your average blood glucose levels have been to establish car tolerance). Obviously it's challenging managing estradiol but you have to - just watching for Gyno signs for me is meaningless. Fortunately I now know by the symptoms what my estroidal is doing having correlated the bloods with the symptoms in me (again each person's experience may be different) - if my estradiol is on the high side I start feeling exhausted by early afternoon which gets progressively worse. Low estradiol and I have insomnia.

My 10cents

I agree, getting bloods done is not a bad idea. Do I need a doc to order it or do i just walk into pathcare and ask to have it done?

My only indication on ketosis is with pee sticks. I know they are not necessarily accurate but I've tested purple. If i look at my protien it does not make sense though.

You can just walk into lancet. Not sure about the others. The problem with the pee stick is as follows:
When you cut carbs, even if your protein is high you produce ketones. Before you are keto adapted you simply excrete most of the ketones through your pee - hence the reaction of the sticks (remember their purpose is for a diabetic to test for ketoacidocis which is when the body cannot use glucose because the pancreas doesn't produce insulin so the body overproduces ketones to try to compensate - this can't happen in a healthy person). If you keep your protein high, with your body being used to glucose, it will preferentially convert protein to glucose in the liver and glucose will remain favored in the blood stream and the excess ketones will be pee'd out.

If your protein however is low, once you become adapted, and your blood glucose is low, your body will start to hold onto the ketones in the form of Betahydroxybuterate in the blood and also only produce what you need - always trying to get to a point of homeostasis - why make more than you need. At this point your blood will show you are in ketosis and the pee sticks will say you are not.

The blood ketone meter can be bought with the sticks at any Dischem - it's a combo ketone / glucose meter.
