Thanks DJ....would mayo be considered "fats" even if its a fat reduced mayo or should it be avoided?

no mayo wouldnt be allowed as if u look finely it contains carbs, reduced fat mayo contains more carbs than full fat.keep your fat sources healthy ones.if u want me to give u all quantities of everything u can email me but its gonna cost u as i will have to do the diet plan for u...

Barbell wrote:

fair enough....Ive read up quite a bit on the diet itself but some finer details need ironing out. Hows it working for you?

I also read that caffiene should be eliminated but on other articles I read it said it would be useful to introduce an ECA stack...comments?

eca stack can be alright but i wouldnt use it untill u have to have to have to cos caffeine does raise cortisol levels and well thats not a good thing, also u wont need it for energy cos on keto diets u feel all the energy in the world...stick to the basics...only use burners when cardio and diet are no longer working...

Is there no health risks of depleting carbs for 6 to 8 weeks, yes I know you have a cheat meal, but I mean heart desiese, etc? Yes I know your body can use protein for fuel, so just wondering.

i dont think as much as there are plenty of cases with people suffering from epilepsy that stay on for many many months and years.. i think if u are having to many unhealthy fats (which my diets arent) i think u could have issues with heart disease but the oils and fats used in this diet at 85% healthy dude, maybe 15g of saturated fat in a diet for someone who is 100kgs lean mass... u need the carbs for glycogen replenishment and for stimulation of the thyroid...so carbs are needed at least once a week...

i base my diets on palumbo's ideas, its the simplest way to do keto but i dont think the single cheat meal is really effective, yes it works but there are better and more effective ways to cheat than eating pizza and anything u are craving... also 1 meal to replenish glycogen and leptin levels?noo way...

Please explain further, what do you mean 1 meal isn't enough, 1 meal in how long?

well like i said i use hours, if u are getting leaner everytime u increase the hours of your cheat then u know that your body is utalising the carbs for muscle glycogen super compensation... but u have to train the body into taking in all those carbs,if u are above 12% bf u start with a single cheat meal untill u get to 12% or lower and then u increase the hours u feed for, also its a case of using your hunger as a judge for your feeding not counting carbs like lyle mac donald recommends...

there are many factors on how to tell if your cheat was effective, first by how many days it takes u to get back to the same weight u where the day of your cheat, how many days it takes for u to be lighter than the day of your cheat..and if u are actually dropping fat on your cheat,if u dont drop fat after a massive cheat then u cut back on the cheat hours and u up the cardio,if that works then try increasing the hours after that,if that has the same result as before then u up cardio again...but also remember the food choices on a cheat are also important...

Nice post thanks, I don't see how it would even matter with a cheat meal as large as you like, you are burning way more calories than you consuming in the gym as it is so you have to burn fat. Yes I understand now the reason for the cheat meal but I doubt the cheat meal is going to effect you losing weight by any means... More just a 'shock' to the system if you ask me.

thanks bro... basically the leaner u get the harder it is to replenish glycogen and leptin levels hence the more extended period of cheating... but be careful with "shit" food... protein and fats do nothing for muscle glycogen and leptin levels...so keeping it low fat is vital... but that being said u can still have fattish foods but time them correctly in your cheat...also your hunger should be your measuring stick,if u are feeling sick u have over eaten or had to many fats in your meal....so eat enough to be full but not to be sick...i mean i ate 18crumpets (180g) 100ml toffee sauce (75g carbs) 250ml low fat ice crem (75g of carbs) 150g choco's (105g of carbs) and a packet of toffees(75g carbs) in 30mins and i felt full...i didnt feel sick i felt full so i stopped and then because i increased my number of hours ate again 2.5 hours later...500g oven bake chips and a nando's pineapple burger (200g carbs) with 2l of fanta grape (250g carbs) and then i felt full... u can see how much i got in...but i didnt feel sick and i didnt force feed myself...but i have trained my body to do this over the last 5 weeks...i started with 1 meal and then slowly increased the duration every week by 30mins...

yes u are burning more calories, but the point of the carbs is to stoke the metabolic rate and increase t3 levels... now if u are doing so with high fat and protein foods on a cheat then u could end up doing bugger all for your metabolism therefore no weight loss and to some degree fat gain...

Using you as an example DJ, what are your macros for the cheat day? From what I understand you want to keep fat intake low-ish right, but does your protein amount stay the same for the day? I imagine there won't be a need to lower it ...

i dont count macro's on a cheat day,i use hours and hunger,if i use macro's i will be trying to do to much in one sitting cos if the piece of paper say i need 1500g of carbs and i only get 900g in cos i am full and feel sick then i havent completed my cheat properly... so throw the macro's out the window bro,all i can say is 3 hours isnt gonna hinder u that much...but u can see this weekend i did 1150g of carbs cos i still had more goodies whilst watching the movie...so if i am not lighter by thursday then i need to cut back on my hours of cheating...fat content i would say got to about 100g in the amount of carbs so about 10% of my intake...
