If I owned a gym I would ban using the standing calf raise for shoulder press along with curling in the squat rack, sorry dj :P

Using the calve machine as a shoulder press is quite effective...

Thats what i thought! Expecially if it can take extra weight. Like a military press.

I think rather let people experiment and come up with new ways to use the equipment.

NB! Just dont use the only calf-raise when i need to do calves please - and especially not when the smith machine is open or there is a ton of other equipment to do the same.

Best time to do this is after morning cardio or any other time after I've taken stimulants. They really loosen up the bowels you see.
It's nice because then I can go strait to the showers and wash my bum before putting some fresh clothes on...

Sorry if I offend you

Shrugs will work better? Is there not a lot of strain on the wrists when doing shoulder press?

Anyways regarding what ticks me off. Now we got a personal trainer (yes a women) who loves using that big balls. I am fine with it, but ffs she keeps training her clients where I and my fellow gymers walk. So yesterday while doing a warmup set for chest on the smithmachine - she was almost against me, got pretty pissed. So I wanted to put on more weight, she was in the way and I slightly kicked the ball while the client still sat on it.

I don't see any benefit over a normal military press and considering there's tons of barbells and only 2 standing calf raises in my gym, I can see how this is annoying

What pisses me off at gym is when u been at the gym for 10yrs and now everyone knows who u are and they all talk to u and prevent u from training. I feel having a ipod decreases the chances of convo. Therefore i inisist if u have the same problem invest in a ipod. Maybe not even an ipod just the earphones connected to ur pants hahaha and pretend u dont hear them :p

No lets not deadlift as I need a double hip replacement haha

Haha, i know the feeling. I've been there for many years and know too many people... and alll the guys send their mates to me with questions about training, diet, juice, everything... Keeps me busy as hell.
As well as that i often have the trainers refer people to me to ask about their injuries or whatever

Um, but im scared of needles...

Reoccurring experiences that irritate me: oakes not putting weights back (especially true for Thursday evenings), chops in groups (the more the worse), oakes laying out their freeweights then not using half of them, guys with gas problems pushing too hard, assholes taking the dumbbells outside the freeweights area and not brining them back.

I've also seen some weird things, like guys (amateurs) using the smith machine with just the bar (its pretty much weightless)...

These 2 cunts I know who just started training together. They were fine on their own but ever since they've collaborated they help each other do their sets and both of them end up pumped and screaming. I mean who does forced reps on preacher curls from the 1st rep? Small fuckers loading up 60kg on the preacher helping each other through 1/4 ROM whilst both shouting "Yes boy! Keep going! Feel the burn! 5 more!". For fucks sake. Tried to tell them to go easy but they tune "its part of this new training system we're doing". *smfh*
