Its seems this debate is flocking a dead horse. I still think a lockdown was good if enforced correctly. Dont quite think that was the case. As far DA or ANC or who the fuck ever gets into power, they all assholes and will only be in power for themselves! Anc will always be in power, i dont see that changing in my lifetime, its only when people are fully and properly educated that anything will change. Unfortunately, that doesn't look like happening anytime soon! Look at the idiots in universities now, burning them down cos they dont want to pay fees, etc. Level of education and ability to pass has been brought down to benefit dumb fucks. Ass long as u keep them dumb, dangle a carrot once in awhile, they will never know any better and keep dumb fucks in charge of the country.

As much as Cyril is president, that means jackshit, he takes instructions from the ANC. Look what happened to Mbeki when he went against ANC norms...

Sometimes, i feel its better to just bury your head in the sand and not think so much of all this cos its just infuriating and nothing we can do but play along to survive.

Patience and faith if you believe in god is all that you can truely grasp on...

Cyril is just as bad as anyone else in the ANC.

I'll rather die fighting than die on my knees.

Agreed.

He will become a Dictator in this world as the man that saved the country. People followers "the fucking sheeps of the world" will follow and support this with closed eyes, just as stupid as they are now, they will support the fuckups to come, without even knowing... once in the kak, they will blame all around them but themselves.

The ANC will come and take as they please... Social Economy, socialism... watch and learn.

Those that think we are in safe hands... Only God can help you.

In life history repeats itself, if you disagree, you to fucking young.

6 Februarie 1838 by Mgungundlovu - Nothing has changed, just modern era.

This is not about black & white. Its about whats right and wrong.

Remember before 1994 - SA could sustain them self, we were INDEPENDENT from the world. , financially we were a rich country... the ANC raped the country to "Rommel" status. Thats just fucking wrong, and their generations will suffer because of this. Karma will get all of those fucks.

Wonder what will happen to the World Bank's money ?? I bet you these clever fucks found a loophole contractual and will rape that fund in some or other way.

Funny thing is....

They open SA on the 1st, that is 1 day before a weekend... are you fucking serious? Next weekend will be fucking chaos in SA. Idiots.

Open the Country on a Monday, business to continue on the Tuesday... not a day before the weekend where you will allow people alcohol after 5 weeks !! hahaha fucking chaos !!

Interesting...but what can anyone do? Being a minority, not much. If I could leave this country, I would at the drop of a dime.

My street, is like absolutely normal. Free for all now, no more lockdown. Hardly any police presence. I was mugged on Wednesday evening coming from pnp with groceries just before we break fast. Guy grabbed me from behind in a sleeper hold and others took my wallet, phone, etc from my pockets. Felt myself blacking out and tried punching guy overhead that was choking me out. When he let go I needed a few seconds to gather myself then gave chase. Was too late...they split up, a security guard also chased. Ended up in a taxi rank, saw the guard with a guy and just ran up and gave a solid hit, he fell but the rank manager I assume came with a gun to find out why I hit him. Searched him, nothing on him. Had to just let it go, next day one of the cashiers going home at that time, told me it was 5 guys..I didn't get a good look at any...

Plenty ppl around but no one does anything, especially when you a minority person of colour...nothing much we can do, it's sad. Just another statistic, nothing more.

I need to get myself a nice switchblade. Any idea's where in Durb's I can find me one of those?

As far as the draconic lockdown regulations go, what can you do?
1: Openly criticise the regulations you don't agree with, like I've been doing. Your criticism will sooner or later open the eyes of others and the voice will grow stronger.
2: Be "disobedient" in a low risk way, for example visit a friend or family member... support a business that are not deemed "essential" or brew your own alcoholic beverages. As soon as more and more people do this the whole thing starts to collapse... as has been happening since last week.
3: If the DA has the balls to announce their own social distancing regulations for the western cape the ANC are fucked. That might have repercussions, but I can only see the ANC taking a beating in the long run if this happens. The 75000 SANDF soldiers are nowhere to be found, probably because they never existed.

As far as the ANC's hold on the country goes it's a little more complex and harder to break, but know that this lockdown has cost them allot more than they ever predicted. They do have their sheep that will follow them anywhere, but the majority of their support comes from their ability to improve the living conditions for their voting base and that is dependant on economic growth. The better the economy does the more support the ANC has as is evident if you look at the voting results over the years in comparison with the economic growth. Their support has declined dramatically and now that they've crippled the economy that support will diminish even more.

Sorry to hear that. We've had issues with livestock theft as well. It's due to people getting desperate and also taking advantage of the outlawing of community and farm watches. The good thing about that is that it is pissing the right people off.

I watched a documentary explaining why people behave like that, if I can find it I will post it here.

I've learned a number of lessons from this lockdown, one of them is that when society in SA collapses there likely won't be a racial war, not initially at least but rather a "class war". The first people to suffer are the poor, once they become desperate enough they resort to looting and theft from the income class just above them because the lower down you are on the income hierarchy the weaker your defences are. Theft and attacks will then move up the income class hierarchy as more and more people become desperate, the exceptions are opportunistic attacks on people that happen to be at the wrong place at the wrong time and farmers due to the isolate nature of their farms. Opportunistic politicians might seize the moment and change the motivation for attacks and looting to a racial one.

Carrying a good knife is beneficial and I'll ask for some recommendations, but you don't really want to get into a knife fight with someone that has grown up in conditions where fighting for survival is a daily occurrence, you'll end-up second best unless you get really good training that teaches you how to properly fight dirty. There is a reason why attacks on the middle class which includes farm attacks are so lethal, there's a massive mindset and skill difference between someone "ordinary" and a battle-hardened criminal.

Don't get a toy, get a real gun:
1: Pepper spray does not stop a determined attacker, it only stops people doing the demonstrations. I can provide real life proof if needed.
2: There is legality issues regarding the 9mm pepper ammo since it contains a primer which is regulated under the firearms control act.
3: When a threat requires force in order to protect you or someone else from bodily harm you want something effective and a proper firearm is the best solution.

Obtaining a firearm is a lengthy and somewhat complex process if you are new to it, but I'm very pro-gun and willing to help guide you through the process if you are interested. I guarantee you that once you buy a gun you will want more, they are not scary killing machines... they are useful tools and safe in the hands of a properly trained person which you will be once you complete the mandatory competency training.

I agree with the message of the video... you need a functioning economy to keep people alive, it's common knowledge and there is no counter argument... the lockdown has to end or is should be forced to end.

The reason the ANC is not lifting the lockdown is because they have other motives.

Thanks for posting the video.

I was pretty depressed at the end of week 3, because I thought I was going to fight a war on my own and had very little support even from friends and family. Many were praising Squirrel and thought he looked tired from making "difficult" decisions and kak like that which is absolutely nonsense.

When the hard lockdown was extended with another 2 weeks I started hearing criticism which was somewhat encouraging at the time. When the revised regulations were published it allowed me to perform "something important" legally. Then when the level-4 regulations were published a few weeks later I noticed that I was no longer able to perform the "something important" due to my unique situation and I had no legal alternative and that's when I decided to no longer follow ANY of the lockdown restrictions.

Luckily many others had enough at the same time and that's also when the roadblocks mysteriously disappeared and road traffic increased dramatically to the point where I no longer notice any difference other than a few closed businesses. When I speak to other people about the lockdown it's pretty clear that they've had enough and anyone that dares to mutter support for the lockdown is quickly told to wake-up and shut-up and that's really encouraging to hear.

I am 100% over the lock down. Had a few people over Friday (unplanned) drank about 5 liters of home brew cider and had a braai. It was glorious.

Something is certainly fishy. and not just here I mean.

We can only hope enough people push back, and more importantly, that their supporters do what they've been good at for decades, fight back. Ultimately their supporters are the ones who will experience the worst of it.

I have a fridge full of home brew wine being cold crashed and will be ready to be consumed this evening, and a few gallons more bubbling away. Can't wait to sample all my recipes. So at least some good has come of all of this...

Medically, the lock-down has served it's purpose. We are prepared to tackle the burden of disease. We have spent the whole lock-down establishing algorithm's to ensure we deal with the disease efficiently. We have emptied out wards to make space for those in need. A new paper published by the UK has helped with the management of severe cases (I.e. ones requiring intensive care).

Although, I am not in favor in complete dissolution of the lock-down and lock-down social practices, I am, however, in favor of things returning to almost to normal but with social distancing and such kept in place to ensure medical professionals are not over burdened by infections.

I am quite over this lockdown. The protocols are plain fucking dumb.
The fact that businesses cannot open is mind boggling.

Move whatever can online such as schooling and higher education, and limit general gatherings, and let the economy run.
I swear to fuck Woolworths etc is always crowded and people behave like absolute retards.

Masks? Stupid fucking idea adding an illusion of safety.
I don't get how businesses still cannot operate, we are not in the first world, the ramifications and support are completely misaligned.

Even medically speaking, this procedure could have been a lot smarter.
It is times like these that makes me hate general humanity, you really do realize how stupid people can be.

EDIT: I still think the first 3 weeks were reasonable to get 3rd world minds on board with the whole seriousness, but it didn't work, people are still being careless. At this rate we will be in a form of lockdown for the remainder of the year easily UNLESS the govt admit the lockdown is not a smart move - which they probably won't

I'm officially over this lockdown.
I no longer feel like this was done to contain Covid - I just feel oppressed right now. Like I have no rights.

I was on board with lockdown for quite some time, now in hindsight, I see it hasn't really done much at all, except fuck up the economy.
