Don't want to paste the entire article but some of the information mentioned in it correlates to my experience with GW.
"Aside from its well-known fat-loss enhancing qualities, GW has been shown to have many protective qualities as well. GW has been shown in research to have muscular protective and enhancing effects and this seems to be related to a decrease in muscle inflammation and damage."

Extract
There are small incidences documented in a very small number of studies with PRAR Modulators with one indirect effect that may be prudent to address. Apparently there is a small increase in the likelihood of research subjects developing stomach polyps. While this is worth being aware of, the good news is in those very same studies it is documented that administration of a COX-2 inhibitor virtually eliminates this increased possibility.
Good thing I'm already on Tribulus. Adds some concern to the use of GW though. Not a chance I'm taking a COX-2 inhibitor to enable taking GW...

Replying on an old post, but I have some questions, and I see that your lab rate used GW501516. I got my first batch last week. Marathon runner and need some advise if possible from the experience and dosis used by your wife. I really am desperate for advise. Running Ultra this coming weekend.

esterhch wrote: will this dose last through a 50km race, or can you consider taking another 10mg at half way?
Eish no, the GW is not used as "fuel" to give you energy for 50km. It's there to increase endurance by affecting energy release.
Take 10mg finish en klaar.

This has not yet been proven on humans as the study lengths differed between humans and the "marathon mice"
Just to be on the safe side I think for now until more info comes out I will be giving this a skip.
I will add links as I get them

What's the official reason from glaxosmithkline for discontinuing GW?

What's the official reason from glaxosmithkline for discontinuing GW?
Hi Admin. I found this on wiki:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GW501516GW501516 was initially discovered during a research collaboration between GSK and Ligand Pharmaceuticals that began in 1992.[9] R & D Focus Drug News reported that GSK began phase I trials of the compound for the treatment of hyperlipidemia in 2000[10] followed by phase I/II in 2002.[11] The discovery of the compound was published in a 2001 issue of PNAS.[12] Oliver et al. reported that they used "combinatorial chemistry and structure-based drug design" to develop it.[13] One of the authors was the son of Leo Sternbach who discovered benzodiazepines in the 1960s.[14] In 2003, Ligand Pharmaceuticals earned a $1 million payment as a result of GSK continuing phase I development.[15]
GW501516 had completed two phase II clinical studies but GSK abandoned further development of the drug in 2007 for reasons which where not disclosed as of 2008
but I posted THIS and also found a warning on their site:
News Release - May 24, 2013
Serious risks associated with use of the unauthorized product GW501516
GlaxoSmithKline Inc. (GSK), in consultation with Health Canada, would like to inform you that a compound referred to as GW501516 is being made available for sale to Canadians via the internet. GW501516 is not approved for use in humans and has never been manufactured nor distributed by GSK. GW501516 was being developed to raise HDL or "good" cholesterol in patients with abnormal cholesterol levels in their blood. In 2006, GSK stopped clinical development of GW501516 when toxicities, including a variety of cancers, were discovered following routine, long term animal studies.
An unauthorized product, known as GW501516, is being made available on the internet.

In 2013 (New Scientist) reported that "tests on rats showed that at all doses, the drug rapidly causes cancers in a multitude of organs, including the liver, bladder, stomach, skin, thyroid, tongue, testes, ovaries and womb."[4] In 2013 WADA took the rare step of warning potential users of the compound of the possible health risks. They stated "clinical approval has not, and will not be given for this substance".[2][24]
This is what wikipedia's got but ill go ask my oncology proff this week what his thoughts are and try and give a better answer.
