Ive only been on this forum group for about a year or so but your willingness to help is pretty damn cool.
I dont think there is any post I have disagreed with and there are loads I have learnt from.

Ive been toying with the idea of getting a proper trainer (even though I am a hair away from 40) and seeing your advice will mean I will likely ask you if you have capacity (if I can contact you, there should be a contacts section of trainers who are validated here and willing to be contacted for advice I reckon)

I did mail admin about something like this, I guess it just wasn't feasible for him, which is all good.

Not happening, tried it in the past and it didn't work as intended. Stick to the forum rules, I don't like where you are going...

I was making a suggestion that I felt might offer value and address some of the requirements or wants of some of the members. I dont think this violated the forum rules and if it indirectly did, that was not the intention.

But fair enough, your forum, your rules

This is the part I don't like, if you want to lookup members on other platforms you are free to do so but don't discuss that here. I've always made it clear that I want members on the site to stay anonymous for various security reasons. Those stupid enough not to protect their id can go somewhere else. The forum will not be used to exchange contact details or hints to find social media profiles.

Are you stopping for reasons outside your control?
Or do you feel you need a break?

I don't think it is a good idea and will set you back, but shit happens, accept you will likely set yourself back.

totally agree. Stopping is not a good idea unless you absolutely have to.
It can be very challenging to get back into things and spiral.

If the diet is not sustainable then you need to look at changing it up to something that works for you. But I would strongly discourage saying stuff it and giving yourself a week, especially now.

Mentally, its just getting harder and hard to convince myself to keep it up.
Its been almost a month now and I have barely seen a result, The only changes seem to be water weight.

I feel I need a "palate cleanser" of sorts,

Im also just in a very Bleh mood, been in it for a few days now. Literally everything is a chore and even getting to the gym this morning was a major mental battle.

I am in a slump of note....

Look, I don't agree with the advice you are following on diet - but fair enough.

It would be better to allocate a couple cheat meals on say Saturday and Wednesday, than take a break from your diet.

Your problem is you are not healthy.
That is not a diss, it is not an insult.
Get healthier, fuck the "weight" loss.

It took you years to get to here, it won't go away after a couple weeks or months.
I am not a fan of motivation, but I feel you need a mixture of sympathy and honesty.

Have a meal in the evening of what you please, and a rice based dessert.
Don't spiral.

Do something reasonable for a week, and come back and make some tweaks to the diet.

Edit: I can't recall your age, but if you are hormone deficient, I would suggest you get that sorted for mental well-being as well fat loss/retaining muscle.

I am a grown ass man,
I can take criticism. I dont always like the truth, but hey its the truth.

Im looking at this situation the same way I would look at something at work, or a hobby..If I keep banging my head here and not seeing anything change I know im going to give up. Rather take 5minutes, clear my head and come back to it when I have refreshed myself.
Except in this case im not taking 5min, im taking a week.

I am also not going to suddenly order pizza and milkshakes for every meal. I will stick to some healthy stuff, I will get some different fruits and veg through my body, maybe some red meat for a change. I have a steak in the freezer thats been calling me.

I know its not a quick fix, But day in and day out im working my ass off, Excersize wise im doing 45 minutes of weights , then another 45 minutes of cardio. During the day im still adding another 10 000 steps onto of it. Thats not going to change. It cant. I know if i take a week off of that , im done. I might aswell buy a wooden box and some charcoal, cause i wont see 40. The diet needs a small break then back into it.

Changing medical aids now, the new one starts in march, they have a dietician benifit, I will make use of that too.

It actually sounds like you are being reasonable.

I don't think any human should limit their red meat intake.

Maybe track macros of what you are eating so we can get an idea of what you ate and how your body responded when you come back.
